Job description
Company: NERA Description: Since 1961, NERA ( ) has provided unparalleled guidance on the most important market, legal, and regulatory questions of the day. Our work has shaped industries and policy around the world. Our field-leading experts and deep experience allow us to provide rigorous analysis, reliable expert testimony, and data-powered policy recommendations for the world’s leading law firms and corporations as well as regulators and governments. Our experience, integrity, and economic ingenuity mean clients can depend on us in the face of their biggest economic and financial challenges. We are currently looking for an intellectually curious, independent-minded team player with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our Energy line of business as a Senior Consultant or Director. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global firm that uses quantitative methods to analyze energy and transportation markets, evaluate regulation and competition, and conduct analyses that will be used in energy and transportation regulatory and commercial disputes. Ideal candidates will bring experience across key verticals such as electricity, O&G, and renewables, and have a broad regulatory/litigation background. Qualified candidates will have 6-8+ years of experience and be experts in supporting energy clients on high-value matters. They should have experience testifying, leading projects, and managing P&L. They will operate independently and build and run a “microbusiness” inside a broader platform. Candidates should be interested in, and passionate about, owning client relationships and delivering high-quality work. NERA will provide you with opportunities for growth and professional development—progressing from a seasoned senior to expert—and the ability to work across a broad range of industries, including mining, infrastructure, and energy. NERA offers a flat structure—Partners own P&L, manage teams, lead client work, and foster a collegial environment with strong collaboration across the firm. NERA has world-class support staff—PhDs, top-tier STEM talent, and significant project management and analytical resources—as well as strong brand recognition in regulatory and litigation arenas. The applicable base salary for this role is $225,000 – $275,000 per year. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives. We are excited to offer a competitive total rewards package which includes health and welfare benefits, tuition assistance, 401K savings and other retirement programs as well as employee assistance programs. NERA’s clients value our ability to apply and communicate state-of-the-art approaches clearly and convincingly, our commitment to delivering unbiased findings, and our reputation for quality and independence. Our clients rely on the integrity and skills of our unparalleled team of economists, backed by the resources and reliability of one of the world’s largest economic consultancies. NERA serves clients from more than 25 offices across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. NERA provides an environment in which dedication to client and project success, individual professional development, and fun are at the forefront. The work environment is collegial, and there are numerous opportunities to learn and connect with staff at all levels. #NERA Marsh (NYSE: MRSH) is a global leader in risk, reinsurance and capital, people and investments, and management consulting, advising clients in 130 countries.
