New Ventures Senior Associate

Job description

## About the Company [Redesign Health](http://redesignhealth.com) is a global venture and applied technology firm focused on building next-generation healthcare companies. We manage venture capital and venture buyout strategies, each powered by an AI operating system and team of leading technologists, entrepreneurs, and investors. Our venture capital strategy backs exceptional founders at the earliest stage, often before an idea is fully formed, often providing the first institutional capital and an unmatched degree of strategic healthcare-specific leverage through exit. Our venture buyout strategy partners with proven management teams at existing incumbents via control investments and delivers outsized value by rewiring core products and workflows with AI. Since inception in 2018, Redesign and our portfolio companies have touched the lives of more than 15 million patients, raised over $1.5 billion from premier institutional, sovereign, and strategic investors, and built distinctive partnerships with marquee healthcare organizations around the world. Redesign is based in New York and has offices in Bengaluru, Los Angeles, and Riyadh. ## About the Role Redesign Health is hiring an early-stage investor to focus on pre-seed deal sourcing and relationship development, with a particular emphasis on expanding our network in the healthcare AI ecosystem. This is a sourcing-first role for a self-starter who is energized by networking and excited to build relationships with high-potential founders. This role focuses on the earliest stage of our investment pipeline developing proprietary relationships, generating differentiated deal flow, and creating early access to amazing founders in Redesign Health’s strike zone. You will combine strong interpersonal instincts with structured sourcing discipline, and work closely with your partner Redesign Health teams on the path to Investment Committee. We are looking for someone who is **AI-innate** and naturally uses AI tools, data signals, and workflow automation to build a differentiated sourcing engine. The best candidates are natural connectors with strong founder instincts who can combine judgment, hustle, ecosystem fluency, and AI tooling to turn fragmented signals into real founder relationships at 10x the scale than anyone could have done previously. ## What You’ll Do **Founder & Ecosystem Development** - Build a dense, trusted network across founders, angels, scouts, venture funds, operators, and entrepreneurial communities. Develop real market presence in the places where exceptional founders actually emerge. Expand Redesign’s network and visibility in the AI healthcare ecosystem by tracking which operators are turning into founders, which micro-communities are producing breakout talent, and where conviction is building before the rest of the market catches up. Bring those insights back into Redesign’s investment process and broader platform. **Active Founder Sourcing** - Source high-potential pre-seed investment opportunities through relationship-driven founder sourcing. Identify founders who fit Redesign’s from pre-idea founders just starting to explore their next venture to founders leading pre-seed stage companies. Sourcing should cover operator networks, universities, accelerators, founder communities, events/dinners, and other relevant digital channels via a combination of active in-market engagement and desk sourcing. You’ll maintain an active, high-quality pipeline of founders / deals and have a strong point of view on the level of attention needed for each to convert. **Maintaining Our Founder Bar** - Understand what exceptional founders look like and ensure that our founders in our pipeline reflect that expectation. As you continue to engage founders, you should be relaying learnings for founder attributes and signals we should prioritize as part of any future sourcing activities. **Team Ecosystem Orchestration** Design and orchestrate Redesign’s broader ecosystem presence. Map the universities, accelerators, regional ecosystems, founder communities, and events where Redesign should have sustained relationships, and create opportunities for other members of the investment team to engage directly. You are both a pilot and air traffic controller: personally deep in the highest-priority networks while routing teammates into the right rooms, relationships, and conversations so that Redesign’s coverage multiplies beyond any single person’s reach. **Partnering with Founders from Sourcing Through Diligence & IC** - Build trust quickly with founders and engage credibly from the first conversation. You'll work alongside founders through evaluation, diligence, and the lead-up to their IC pitch. For founders just starting to explore what's next, you'll speak competently across Redesign thesis areas to both entice them and demonstrate our insight into the healthcare market. During diligence, you'll surface key questions that would impact an investment decision and support process management with speed and rigor. While the role is sourcing-first, it offers meaningful exposure to how conviction is built and how investment decisions get made. **AI-Native Sourcing Systems** - Build and continuously refine an AI-enabled sourcing engine. Use data signals, workflow automation, network mapping, market monitoring, and AI tools to identify founder targets, prioritize outreach, track ecosystem movement, and improve sourcing productivity. ## What You’ll Need **Background** - 2–5 years of experience in venture capital, early-stage investing, startups, or a related field - Direct previous exposure to founder sourcing or venture ecosystem development is strongly preferred **Core Competencies** - **Network Density:** You know how to build real relationships across founders, angels, microfunds, operators, and investors. - **Founder Judgment:** You have early instincts for exceptional people, including those who may not fit obvious or over-credentialed patterns. - **Sourcing Drive:** You are energized by the hunt. You are proactive in transforming your workflows and don’t wait for someone else to tell you something is wrong or should be improved. - **Relationships Over Transactions:** You understand that proprietary deal flow comes from developing trust, reputation, and demonstrating value to every founder or external partner we engage. You take the long view of working with people and don’t drop the relationship if it isn’t immediately valuable. - **Natural Connector:** You move easily across ecosystems, make warm introductions instinctively, and create network effects around yourself. - **Entrepreneurial:** You are resourceful, proactive, and comfortable building from ambiguity. You treat the sourcing engine itself as a product to be developed. - **Founder-First:** You communicate with empathy and credibility. Founders feel that you understand them, what they are trying to build, and why it matters. - **Technology Innovator:** You proactively leverage AI and emerging technology tools to create extraordinary productivity and impact.
