Duties & Responsibilities: Assist in the control room breaking news Pitch stories and segment ideas regularly Research topics using the Internet, video archives, and other information sources. Select strongest possible elements to help best tell stories. Write, organize, and produce scripts and elements for show and interview segments or packages. Assist in preparing and executing live, compelling television newscasts. Keep Executive Producer and Senior Producer apprised of developments of stories. Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Producer and Senior Producer or network leadership. Mentor other staff members. Requirements & Skills: Flexibility to work different shifts Experience producing for a national news program or producing newscasts in a top 10 market Experience covering politics and government Strong news judgement Quick decision maker and creative thinker Effective coach and mentor to staff of all experience levels Collaborative team player who advocates for their show but find ways to elevate network reporting Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Ability to adapt to change, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Proficiency with ENPS Salary Range : $66,300 to 80,000 (per experience) Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
