Interstate 81 Local Hire Program Interested in participating in the NYSDOT Local Hire Program for the Interstate 81 viaduct construction project? The I-81 Local Hire Initiative will need laborers, carpenters, iron workers, equipment operators, truck drivers, etc., and NYSDOT is working with several workforce partners to provide training through apprenticeships and on-the-job training programs. No prior highway construction work experience is required to be eligible for being selected for our training programs or employment opportunities. This is a public works / prevailing wage rate project. Eligibility Requirements: Must be a resident within the following zip codes: 13202, 13203, 13204, 13205, 13207, 13208, 13210, 13224, 13290, residents of the Onondaga Nation territory, and locations within zip codes 13206 and 13214 that are also within the City of Syracuse. High School Diploma or Equivalent OSHA 10 Card Proof of ability to work in the United States
