Job description
About BeeX BeeX is building the world's most advanced Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs). BeeX specialises in providing autonomous robotics solutions to safeguard underwater infrastructure in the maritime, energy and defense sectors, reducing over 90% of carbon emissions. We are pioneering Autonomous Robotics-as-a-Service (ARaaS) on a global scale, supported by decades of operational experience in harsh waters. With unprecedented efficiency, we strive to provide our customers with a one-point solution for asset integrity management -- protecting assets they value, making sure they stay safe. Why Join Now The industries we serve need new ways to overcome their current challenges, and BeeX sees the opportunity in delivering exactly that, right now. Creating anything new is very hard, and we need outstanding people. At BeeX, everyone is dependent; united by enthusiasm for bold innovation. Our multi-disciplinary team thrives in dynamic environments, driving transformative advancements globally. Join us to make a meaningful impact on the world! You will enjoy this job if you: Want to work in fast-paced start-up environment, prioritizing growth over short-term gains Like to work independently, as well as collaboratively with team members in other sub-teams Have a positive learning mindset, and can quickly absorb knowledge to overcome challenges Can assess risk and make time-critical decisions/tradeoffs in imperfect scenarios Your Role Your role is Operations Engineer. You will plan, prepare, and execute AUV inspection operations end-to-end — from mission planning and equipment readiness through onsite/offshore deployment, data collection, and post-mission reporting. This role is a critical link between engineering, field operations, and clients, ensuring HAUVs are deployed safely, reliably, and to the standard our clients expect. Your Job Scope Plan and prepare underwater inspection missions, including survey planning, risk assessments, and equipment/tooling checklists. Deploy, operate, and recover HAUVs and associated launch/recovery systems during onsite and offshore inspection campaigns. Perform pre- and post-mission checks on vehicle subsystems: thrusters, pressure hulls, PCB stacks, wiring harnesses, connectors, and sensors. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in the field, escalating to engineering teams where needed and documenting fixes. Process, QC, and package inspection data (video, sonar, sensor logs) for delivery to clients and internal review. Coordinate with clients, vessel crews, and site personnel to schedule and execute operations safely and on time. Maintain operational logs, mission reports, and equipment maintenance records. Support integration and testing of new vehicle builds or payloads prior to field deployment. Uphold and continuously improve HSE (health, safety, environment) standards for all field activities. Feed field observations back to R&D and engineering to inform product and process improvements. Desired Qualities Degree in Marine/Ocean Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. 1–4 years of experience in field operations, offshore engineering, robotics, marine systems, or a related hands-on technical role (fresh graduates with strong hands-on project experience will be considered). Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software systems; comfortable reading wiring diagrams and basic schematics. Hands-on experience with soldering, cabling/harnessing, or mechanical assembly is a strong advantage. Willingness and ability to travel and work offshore or at client sites, including irregular hours when operations require. Strong problem-solving skills and composure when troubleshooting under field conditions. Good communication skills and ability to work closely with clients, vessel crews, and cross-functional internal teams. Valid diving certification, offshore safety certification (e.g. BOSIET), or willingness to obtain them, is a plus. A valid driving license is an advantage. Remuneration Package Market competitive salary Growth opportunities that align with your direct ability in helping the company, rather than an arbitrary corporate ladder ESOP / equity participation Healthcare support Special access to industry events Well-stocked pantry with nice snacks Support for skills upgrading / learning credits
