Job description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Order Clerk receives and processes incoming orders for materials and merchandise, duties include informing customers of receipt, prices, shipping dates, and delays; preparing contracts; and handling complaints. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Completes order forms. Prepares invoices, shipping documents, and contracts. Receives and responds to customer complaints. Confers with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace shipments. Calculates and compiles order-related statistics and prepare reports for management ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred Degree: Associate Degree in Communication Years of experience: Minimum 1 year in a clerical or customer service setting KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: Superior Customer Service Skills Office Suite applications AS400 experience a plus Team player TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: N/A PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regular computer work and sitting Occasional walking and standing Seldom to never lifting up to 50lbs WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment within a manufacturing plant INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT : Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
