Order Management Associate – RCM x Ops Focus

Job description

# **Our Mission:** Hospital-Quality Care, Everywhere. The healthcare industry still relies on faxes and phone tags to coordinate critical care for patients at home. We think patients and the clinicians who serve them deserve better than a system stuck in 1995. Verse Medical is building the modern software infrastructure to make it happen. We're a well-funded Series C company (backed by General Catalyst, SignalFire, and Sapphire Ventures) on a mission to heal a fragmented system. Our platform connects the dots between providers, payors, and patients, ensuring people get the high-quality care they need, reliably and right where they live. We’re growing fast and looking for people who are driven by this mission to join us! # **Our Values:** The Principles That Guide Us Our values are the operating system for how we work together and with our partners. They aren't just words on a wall; they are the principles we bring to every decision, every day. - **We are transparent, upfront and direct.** We operate with honesty and clarity. We share information openly, the good and the bad, and believe that direct, respectful feedback is the foundation of trust and progress. - **We value speed of iteration.** We are building something new, which means we learn by doing. We prioritize rapid iteration and getting solutions into the hands of users, believing that progress is more valuable than perfection. - **We give 110% effort, 30% of the time.** We are passionate about our mission, and there are moments that require us to go the extra mile. We believe in focused intensity when it counts, balanced by a sustainable pace that keeps our team energized for the long run. - **We empathize with customers to a fault.** When our users face a problem, we own it. Instead of asking them to change, we ask ourselves, *"How can we make this better?"* We believe true innovation comes from deep empathy and a relentless focus on solving the real-world challenges of healthcare. **About the Role** Operations is the connecting point between nurses, patients, insurance providers, and our distribution partners. We manage the logistics and coordination behind every order to make sure the right product reaches the right patient, accurately and on time. This role is a hybrid. Alongside core order processing, you’ll take on prior authorization (PA) and revenue cycle (RCM) work and spend time on the phone with our partner companies to resolve issues and keep orders moving. You’ll move between the system and the phone, so you need to be efficient in both. **Team:** Operations **Location:** Remote **Schedule:** 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET, with occasional overtime opportunities **What You’ll Do** - Process and manage orders, including insurance coverage details, documentation requirements, and stock shortages - Support prior authorization workflows by tracking requests and following up until they’re resolved - Call partner companies to confirm details, resolve issues, and unblock orders, and occasionally reach out to providers - Communicate with nurses and doctors through our provider portal - Spot order and billing issues that could cause denials or delays, and flag them early - Document every interaction and outcome clearly so teammates can pick up where you left off Hit volume and accuracy targets while following set guidelines and escalating when something falls outside them **What We’re Looking For** **Required** - Familiarity with DME and medical supplies - Experience in RCM, billing, or insurance verification - Clear, professional spoken English and confidence on the phone - Excellent written communication - High attention to detail and a high level of organization - An operations mindset: you work with urgency, prioritize well, and care about closing things out - Ability to work independently and manage your own time in a remote environment - Integrity, honesty, and transparency. These are at the core of how Ops works. **Strongly preferred** - Prior authorization experience - Healthcare background or call center / customer service experience **Traits that do well here** - Inquisitive and intrinsically motivated - Comfortable with feedback and with changing workflows **How We Work** This role is metric-driven. We look for high volume, but never at the expense of accuracy. Training will be 2-4 weeks long. Because this is a newer role, flexibility will be crucial as we build out our processes. We’re also feedback-heavy. The work is nuanced and detail-oriented, so mistakes will happen. What matters is taking feedback and applying it going forward. We’re a low-ego team, and with changing workflows and different work styles, we value open-minded communication and speaking up when you’re unsure. **What Success Looks Like** - You hit volume and quality targets consistently as you ramp up - Your calls end in clear resolutions with clear documentation - Issues get flagged early - You ask questions early, take feedback well, and apply it - Teammates can trust your notes and hand-offs # **Our Pledge for an Equitable Future** At Verse Medical, our mission is to deliver equitable, hospital-quality care to everyone, regardless of their background or where they live. We can only achieve this if our own team reflects the diversity of the patients we serve. We are committed to building a workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging, where their contributions are valued, and where they can do their best work. We embrace diversity of all kinds: race, gender, age, religion, identity, experience. We are actively working to build a more inclusive and equitable world, starting from within our own walls. We are an equal opportunity employer. We are also committed to providing a positive and accessible interview experience.
