**Specialist Occupational Therapist – SEN Education Setting** **Location:** Kent **Contract:** Ongoing Locum Assignment **Hours:** Full-Time or Part-Time Available **Start Date:** September 2026 Our client is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic **Occupational Therapists** to join their therapy team on an ongoing locum basis from September. The service is a specialist day and residential academy for children and young people aged **8-19 years** with **moderate to severe learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech and language needs, and additional complex needs**. Set within an extensive campus in Kent, the school offers a highly supportive, multidisciplinary environment focused on helping pupils achieve their full potential and develop essential life skills. This is an exciting opportunity for Occupational Therapists looking to make a meaningful impact within a specialist educational setting, working alongside teachers, speech and language therapists, support staff, and healthcare professionals to provide integrated, pupil-centred care. ### Key Responsibilities: - Provide high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions for pupils with a range of additional needs. - Support pupils to develop functional skills, independence, sensory regulation, and access to learning. - Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to embed therapeutic strategies across the school environment. - Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes and annual reviews. - Deliver both direct and indirect interventions tailored to individual pupil needs. - Provide advice, guidance, and training to school staff and families where appropriate. - Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure best practice standards are met. ### Requirements: - HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist. - Previous experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or learning disabilities. - Understanding of sensory integration principles and occupation-focused practice. - Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. - Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills. - Experience within educational or specialist SEN settings is desirable but not essential. ### Why Join Our Client? - Flexible full-time and part-time opportunities. - Ongoing locum contract with September start. - Work within a well-established multidisciplinary team. - Opportunity to support children and young people with complex needs in a rewarding educational environment. - Beautiful specialist campus with extensive outdoor learning facilities and resources. - Supportive and collaborative workplace culture focused on achieving positive outcomes for pupils.
