Your day-to-day will include: - Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and developing diagnostic formulations - Creating individualized treatment plans with patients and families - Prescribing and managing psychotropic medications - Monitoring treatment effectiveness, safety, and clinical progress - Providing brief supportive interventions and psychoeducation - Collaborating with therapists, psychiatrists, and care coordinators through case consultation and care planning - Educating families about diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and expected outcomes - Maintaining accurate, timely clinical documentation in the EHR - Supporting a culture of high-quality, trauma-informed, culturally responsive care ### ๐ What We're Looking For - Active, unrestricted **Virginia PMHNP license** - Ability to practice independently without an MD collaboration agreement โ **required** - PMHNP-BC board certification - Active DEA license - Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited PMHNP program - Experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and/or families preferred - Strong clinical judgment and comfort practicing autonomously - Comfortable delivering care through telehealth - Excellent communication and documentation skills - Compassionate, culturally responsive approach to patient and family care - **Afternoon, evening, and/or weekend availability required** ### ๐ About Backpack Healthcare Since 2020, we've served **12,000+ kids and families** through accessible behavioral healthcare. **78% of families report that their child is doing better after three months.** We built Backpack because the traditional mental healthcare model wasn't working โ for kids, families, or the clinicians trying to help them.
