People Operations Generalist

**Lead the Future of Dentistry.** Overjet is the world-leader in dental AI. Already, thousands of dental providers and insurers rely on our platform to deliver the best possible care. Now, we’re looking for talented people to fulfill our mission: improve oral health for all. Overjet is where builders become leaders. Everyone here loves to make new things: new products, new partnerships, new content, and a new category of AI technology. And as Overjet grows ridiculously fast, so will you. Simply put, there’s no better place to accelerate your career. Come join us! **The Role** The People team is small, high-leverage, and building the operating infrastructure that a company at our stage needs. This role is at the center of that. This is not a support role. You are the operational backbone of People at Overjet — the person who ensures payroll closes without error, new hires feel set up for success on Day 1, the San Mateo office feels alive, and every HR process runs like it was built by someone who is a systems thinker. You'll own systems end-to-end. You'll use AI tools as a genuine force multiplier. You'll report directly to the Director of People & Performance with real visibility into how the business runs. The right person sees a broken process and fixes it before being asked. They're as comfortable running multi-state payroll as they are ordering snacks and setting up the AV for a company all-hands. They help us build a people focused organization. **Responsibilities** - **Systems & Payroll** - Own Rippling end-to-end: configurations, workflows, integrations, data integrity, reporting - Run multi-state US payroll accurately and on time, every cycle - Manage EoR coordination and onboarding for Pakistan and Egypt - Administer benefits programs: open enrollment, carrier relationships, employee inquiries, plan updates - Maintain HRIS data hygiene: org chart accuracy, employee records, change management, audit readiness - **People Programs** - Own onboarding end-to-end: pre-Day-1 system setup, Overjet 101 orientation coordination, equipment provisioning, 30/60/90 check-in scheduling, buddy program management - Own offboarding: system access revocation, asset retrieval, exit documentation, final pay coordination - Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies as the company evolves - Serve as the first response for employee HR questions — payroll discrepancies, benefit questions, leave requests, policy clarifications. Build out Serval workflows to automate responses to employees. - **Workplace Experience (20%)** - Manage San Mateo office operations two days per week - Own supply and snack ordering on a consistent cadence — office always stocked - Coordinate team outings, in-office events, and culture moments - Manage AV setup and troubleshoot meeting technology - Maintain vendor relationships and building management coordination - **AI & Automation** - Build and maintain integrations between Rippling, Ashby, and adjacent people tools - Use Claude and other AI tools to automate repetitive workflows, draft communications, and surface data insights - Document every process you own with enough clarity that it can be handed off or automated **Qualifications** - 4–5 years of People Operations or HR Generalist experience, with at least one stint at a startup or high-growth company - Proven Rippling ownership — you've built workflows, configured modules, run payroll, and kept data clean; you're not just a user - Multi-state payroll experience; international EoR (Deel or equivalent) familiarity strongly preferred - Active AI tool user — you've used Claude, to meaningfully get work done, not just to experiment - Benefits administration experience: you've run or supported open enrollment and can manage a broker relationship - Track record of managing competing priorities without things falling through the cracks - Demonstrated discretion with sensitive information, comp data, PIPs, offboardings, employee relations - Clear, direct communicator - written and verbal **How You Work** - **Extreme ownership.** You don't wait to be asked. If something is broken, you fix it. If something is missing, you build it. - **Systems thinker.** You see the upstream and downstream of every process before you build it. - **Detail obsessed.** Errors and oversight don't happen on your watch. - **Proactively communicative.** You're surfacing the issue before your manager sees it. - **AI-forward.** You reach for AI tools the way other people reach for spreadsheets — first instinct, not last resort. - **Creative.** You make the office feel like a place people want to be and people programs feel human, not bureaucratic. - **Calm under pressure.** **Why Overjet?** - Competitive Compensation and Equity - Hybrid workplace that provides flexibility, vibrant in-person workspaces, and the ability to build strong connections across all of Overjet - regardless of location - 401k plans with a matching program - Medical, Dental and Vision coverage: 99% employee premium covered, 75% dependent premium covered - Life and AD+D Insurance - 8 weeks Paid Parental Leave - Optional HSA with Employer contribution - Flexible Time Off and company paid holidays - Annual Learning and Development Stipend **Our Hybrid Workplace** We have a unique hybrid workplace at Overjet — which combines the teamwork of meeting in person, with the flexibility of working from anywhere.
