PHP Developer | Billing Team | Based in Lithuania

Job description

## **Join the team building an AI-first company.** Hostinger serves more than 5.5 million clients across 150 countries, but we're still excited about what we're creating next. AI is changing how we build products, support customers, work together, and solve problems. It helps us move faster, spend less time on repetitive work, and focus on bigger ideas. **If you want your work to influence both what we build and how we build it, we'd like to meet you.** **Our culture:** Guided by [**10 company principles**](https://www.hostinger.com/principles) ## **Your role at Hostinger** - **Scale.** The system serves millions of customers and keeps growing, and it has to stay correct and fast while it does. - **Extensibility.** Other teams sell their products through what we build and keep finding new ways to do it. Our design has to support that without a rewrite each time. - **Correct pricing.** The final price depends on a lot of moving variables: taxes, customer location, and whatever sales logic is in play at the time. Real people are being charged, so all of it has to line up. - **Reliability in an asynchronous system.** Events arrive late or twice, jobs retry, and one small mistake can spread across millions of records overnight. **Curious to learn more? Connect with your team:** [Nikas Klimčiauskas, Tech Lead](https://www.linkedin.com/in/nikasklimciauskas/) ## **Your day-to-day** - Own a part of billing end to end, from a vague business need to design, release and monitoring. **How to build it is largely your call**. - Integrate with third-party and internal services through APIs, webhooks and events, and keep them working when the other side changes. - Work with other teams regularly. Answering their questions and helping them with billing is a big part of the job. - Review code and use your experience to influence how other people build things. - Keep the system up to date. - We revisit old code and processes often and prefer not to have unmaintained things around. ## **What will help you succeed** - You can explain a complex problem or a trade-off clearly, in writing and in conversation, and expect to defend your decisions when they are challenged. - You think in terms of architecture, how domains fit together and where the boundaries should be. - Strong PHP with a solid command of OOP and design patterns. - Hands-on experience with REST APIs, SQL, queues and event-driven systems. - You write unit and integration tests as a normal part of your work. - You have worked on a large system in production, ideally one you were on call for. ## **Benefits you’ll love** **🚀 360 Growth:** We provide [limitless learning opportunities](https://www.hostinger.com/blog/learning-culture/): access to platforms like Reforge and CoachHub, global conferences, physical and digital libraries, [feedback culture](https://www.hostinger.com/blog/reaching-your-peak/), and mentoring through [TesoXchange](https://tesoxchange.com/).
