Location: Coral Springs, Florida Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides highly specialized care ranging from complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury to physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care available in five different locations. We also have a home health team and resources for long-term care at Memorial Manor, while also offering therapy for pediatric developmental diagnosis through Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Summary: Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital’s [U18] Sports Medicine therapy program was developed to meet the unique needs of the pediatric and adolescent population for sports injuries and prevention. We provide one-on-one individualized care with highly experienced orthopedic and sports certified physical therapists in four outpatient locations in Broward and Palm Beach counties. -Evaluates and treats patient populations for physical therapy needs. Responsibilities: Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress. Provides information regarding appropriate selection and use of adaptive equipment and support resources.Plans or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.Attains and applies advanced knowledge, competencies, training and specialty certifications. Actively participates in discipline specific professional associations.Enhances standards of quality through research review, participation, and application.Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to issues identified, required frequency of treatments, and involves the patient and family.Supervises activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support personnel.Develops and presents state board approved educational programs for peers, other disciplines, and the community.Creates and promotes policies, procedures and programs in alignment with discipline specific best practice.Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
