Job Title: Physician – Otolaryngology, Otologist/Neurotologist (Open Rank/ Track Faculty) Department: The Division of Otology, Neurotology, and Cranial Base Surgery within the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery is seeking a highly qualified otologist or neurotologist to join our academic clinical practice. We are recruiting a collaborative academic clinician with advanced fellowship training in otology and neurotology who is committed to delivering outstanding patient care and contributing to the department’s educational and clinical missions. The successful candidate will join a collegial, multidisciplinary environment with strong clinical infrastructure and opportunities to help further develop comprehensive ear and hearing care services across adult and pediatric populations. Position Overview The Otologist/Neurotologist will provide comprehensive evaluation and management of patients with a broad range of otologic and neurotologic conditions. Clinical responsibilities include the care of patients with hearing loss, chronic ear disease, cholesteatoma, otologic infections, vestibular disorders, otologic trauma, and implantable hearing technologies. The role includes a major focus on cochlear implantation, osseointegrated hearing solutions, and contemporary management of vestibular disorders. The physician will participate in both outpatient and surgical care and contribute to the continued growth and regional reach of the department’s ear and hearing programs. While experience with skull base pathology is welcomed, the primary clinical emphasis of the position is comprehensive otologic and neurotologic care rather than a dedicated lateral skull base practice. Academic and Educational Responsibilities The successful candidate will actively participate in the department’s educational mission by teaching and mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students in both clinical and operative settings. Faculty are expected to contribute to curriculum development, skills training, and scholarly educational activities that support trainee development and program excellence. Participation in departmental committees, quality improvement initiatives, multidisciplinary care pathways, and professional society engagement is encouraged. Collaborative Environment The Otologist/Neurotologist will work closely with colleagues in audiology, vestibular therapy, neurology, neurosurgery, pediatrics, and primary care to provide coordinated, patient-centered care. The position offers opportunities to help shape programmatic growth in cochlear implantation, hearing restoration, and vestibular care within a large academic health system serving a diverse regional population. Faculty Defined Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, and professor-clinical. These faculty will have earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their primary career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, which may also include teaching and/or research. Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD, DO, or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care. Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years. Their principal career focus is research.
