This job is responsible for coordinating patient referrals to the company from referring physicians and practices; answers calls from the physician referral call line, coordinates appointments, and provides follow-up as required while providing exceptional customer service. Will also work collaboratively with resources such as the Regional Referral Center and/or the organization's On-Call service. Additional degrees, business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications. Work Experience Required - 4 years experience in appointment scheduling, customer service or related field. Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Job Duties Manages the incoming call volume from referring physicians and practices. Schedules appointments and procedures as requested, while partnering with internal departments and leaders to establish new patients. Develops tools to track and measure success. Works collaboratively with the Physician Liaison Representatives, Regional Referral Center, and the organization's OnCall service. Represents the organization as a subject matter expert to meet the needs of the referring physicians and practices. Other related duties as required. Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid. Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
