We are a small, highly collaborative group working across multiple products to deepen our understanding of defect formation and transport mechanisms, enabling better defect control and improved yields in our semiconductor process tools. **Responsibilities** - Conduct defect-related experiments, including tool preparation, interpreting designed experiment test plans, and shepherding wafers. - Design relatively simple 2D/3D structures for tool testing, as needed. - Analyze data from particle experiments using Python, MATLAB, Excel, JMP, and/or other analytical tools. - Present conclusions and recommendations to the team and larger organization through graphs, summaries, and technical presentations. - Contribute to the development of a defect library from a large volume of historical data, requiring strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Partner with scientists and engineers to define and execute effective designed experiments. **Qualifications** - PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - Strong academic record, with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. - Knowledge of basic descriptive statistics and an interest in advanced statistical analysis. - Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Python, MATLAB, JMP, Excel, or similar software. - Experience with 2D/3D design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Hands-on experimental or laboratory research experience. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical findings to diverse audiences. **Preferred Qualifications** - Research or experience in semiconductor process development, plasma physics, vacuum systems, contamination control, or defect-related studies. - Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, and data-driven problem solving. - Experience working with large experimental datasets and developing data libraries, databases, or data management systems. - Experience with scientific programming and data analysis using Python, MATLAB, JMP, or similar tools. **Additional Information** **Time Type:** Full time **Employee Type:** New College Grad **Travel:** Yes, 10% of the Time **Relocation Eligible:** Yes The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
