Platform Engineer (P4)

Job description

At Appsilon, we empower global organizations to make smarter decisions with data. Our solutions help Fortune 500 companies discover new drugs, save lives, optimize operations, and unlock millions in value. To achieve this, we rely on robust, scalable, and well-designed cloud platforms that support data science and machine learning workflows. We’re looking for a Platform Engineer who combines strong cloud and infrastructure expertise with a consulting mindset - someone who can design, build, and evolve reliable platforms that enable teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready data solutions. Your Responsibilities Build and maintain scalable cloud environments (AWS, Azure) for data-driven projects Automate DevOps processes (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD, GitlabCI) Describe Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) Develop infrastructure for data science and ML workflows (e.g., Databricks, Posit) Collaborate with cross-functional teams and advise clients on architecture and best practices Lead documentation efforts and internal technical initiatives Work on one or more client projects - as consultants, we usually work on one main project at a time, with occasional context switching across client engagements Curious about what we actually do? Check out a real example of our work on the blog. What we’re looking for: You’re a mid-senior Platform/Cloud Engineer with: 4+ years of experience in cloud/platform/infrastructure roles Proven track record leading at least one technical solution implementation Expertise in AWS (required), Kubernetes (required), and Linux systems Know-how in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and scripting (Python, bash) Experience working in CI/CD environments Strong consulting profile - capable of understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions Fluent English (C1 minimum) and self-organization skills to thrive in a remote-first setup We offer: A fully remote role within Europe, with flexible working hours that support focus, autonomy, and effective collaboration across teams and clients. A mid–senior platform engineering role with real ownership - you design, build, and evolve cloud platforms that support data science and ML workflows in regulated life sciences environments. Meaningful work on real client projects, typically with one main engagement at a time, allowing you to go deep rather than constantly context switch. A strong consulting setup: close collaboration with cross-functional teams and the opportunity to advise clients on architecture, best practices, and long-term platform decisions. Competitive B2B compensation aligned with your experience and impact, with clear and transparent terms. A transparent growth framework and defined career paths that support long-term development as a platform engineer. Time and budget for continuous professional development, including certifications, courses, and industry learning. Modern equipment (MacBook or ThinkPad with Linux) and tools that enable efficient, high-quality engineering work. A remote-first culture built on trust, ownership, and collaboration, where delivery excellence goes hand in hand with mutual respect and strong team relationships. Important note: To complete the hiring process, you need to have a valid government-issued ID (for Polish citizens) or a valid passport (for non-Polish citizens). Recruitment process: 1. General interview with the People Team 2. Technical Task (Codility) 3. Domain knowledge interview with the Platform Team 4. Final interview with the Hiring Manager 5.
