PMO / Transformation Lead

Job description

At Gratia, we believe potential is globally distributed, but opportunity is not. Our mission is to turn great talent's potential into fulfilling global careers through professional development and tech-enabled platforms. We bridge the gap between ambitious companies and hands-on experts who deliver real results instead of just theoretical plans. In this role, you aren’t just tracking tasks—you are solving operational puzzles. You will be matched with projects at companies that need hands-on help orchestrating high-stakes transformations, ranging from digital shifts to post-merger integrations. ## **Why join Gratia's network?** - **High-impact projects:** Work directly with companies like Apollo and Endeavor, solving real operational challenges—not theoretical exercises. - **Flexibility & autonomy:** Choose projects that match your expertise and availability. Work remotely, set your own rhythm, and grow your portfolio across industries. - **Apprenticeship & growth:** A curated pathway combining high-value projects with mentorship. Move from "doing" to "leading" through real work. - **Community of top talent:** Join a network of experienced specialists who collaborate across disciplines on complex engagements. ## **What you’ll do** - **Build strategic roadmaps:** Design end-to-end delivery cycles, translating high-level business goals into reliable, scalable execution plans. - **Navigate risks & dependencies:** Proactively identify "bottlenecks" and failure points (RAID) to ensure seamless delivery across a client’s cross-functional teams. - **Sync with stakeholders:** Translate complex project milestones into clear recommendations for non-technical executives and board-level partners. - **Drive implementation:** Move beyond theoretical plans to ship real results in production, ensuring new workflows and organizational designs are actually adopted. - **Deliver documentation:** Ensure every project plan and status report is accurate and transparent, enabling client teams to maintain the momentum independently. ## **What we’re looking for** - Professional experience in project management or PMO, typically gained within MBB (McKinsey, Bain, BCG), Big 4, or boutique firms. - A proven ability to design and troubleshoot complex delivery cycles, including but not limited to digital transformation or post-merger integration (PMI). - You thrive when given a complex objective and expected to deliver quality result with minimal oversight. - An exceptional ability to guide client conversations and provide high-level clarity to stakeholders. Comfortable working independently in a remote, distributed team while holding yourself to a high professional bar. ## **What the role is not** - This is not a purely IT project management position. While some projects may involve technology or digital transformation, the majority require holistic operational problem-solving across multiple business functions—not just software delivery. ## **Why Gratia is your next step** - This is a long-term contract/freelance role designed for independent professionals who want the freedom of private practice without the isolation of working alone. - We offer both part-time and full-time engagement options. - Compensation is tailored to your expertise. - Elevate your profile by working directly with leaders at innovative global organizations like Gannett and Portrait Analytics.
