Grande école d’ingénieur généraliste de l’IMT-Institut Mines-Télécom, premier groupe d’écoles d’ingénieurs de France, IMT Atlantique a pour ambition d’accompagner les transitions, de former des ingénieurs responsables et mettre l'excellence scientifique et technique au service de l'enseignement, de la recherche et de l'innovation.
Dans le cadre du projet européen DISCOVER qui a pour objectif la conception de deux robots pour l’acquisition intelligente et l’analyse de données sur les matériaux des chantiers de déconstruction en vue de leur réutilisation. Du point de vue sociologique, nous nous sommes fixé deux objectifs : analyser la manière dont les techniques proposées peuvent s’adapter aux pratiques professionnelles existantes et analyser la manière dont s’élaborent des marchés susceptibles d’accueillir les déchets devenus ressources. Dans cette perspective nous recrutons une post-doctorante ou un post-doctorant en sociologie ou science politique au sein de notre Département Interdisciplinaire de Sciences Sociales (DI2S). Pour traiter ces problématiques, nous privilégierons une approche qualitative construite principalement sur l’étude documentaires, de l’observation et des entretiens semi-directifs.
En collaboration avec Sarah Ghaffari, vous participerez à l’enquête empirique (réalisation d’un travail bibliographique, réalisation d’entretien semi-directifs, contribution à l’analyse documentaire …), vous contribuez à la réflexion scientifique ; vous diffusez et valorisez les connaissances et résultats produits dans des conférences nationales et internationales. Vous contribuez à leur intégration dans les MOOC prévus dans le projet de recherche.
Vous apportez un soutien administratif à la conduite du projet (coordination) et contribuez à l’organisation de manifestations scientifiques.

✔️ Vous avez des connaissances d’un ou plusieurs domaines d’expertise parmi : travail, STS, sociologie des marchés, sociologie du numérique, politiques urbaines…
✔️ Vous maîtrisez les techniques d’enquête qualitative (entretien semi-directif, observation non participante, focus group) et avez de l’expérience dans la réalisation d’études comparatives.
✔️ Nous étudierons avec attention les candidatures faisant état d’une connaissance de la littérature sur l’économie circulaire, les interactions humains-robots, le secteur de la (dé)construction ou sur les processus d’innovation sociotechniques.
🇫🇷 Vous maitrisez le français à l’oral comme à l’écrit (réalisation d’entretiens avec les personnels hospitaliers).
🇬🇧 Vous avez un très bon niveau d’anglais pour vous approprier la littérature scientifique anglo-saxonne et contribuer à l’animation du « WorkPackage SHS » durant tout le projet .
✔️ Vous êtes autonome, organisé·e, vous avez de bonnes qualités rédactionnelles et vous avez l’esprit d’initiative.
✔️ Vous êtes capable de travailler au sein d’une équipe de recherche interdisciplinaire (sociologie, robotique, informatique, énergétique, sc. de l’environnement).
🎓 Le profil recherché devra être titulaire d’un doctorat obtenu moins de 3 ans avant la date d’embauche (01/10/2026) en sociologie ou en science politique (NB : Si le ou la candidate dépasse le délai de 3 ans mais avec une expérience pertinente, possibilité de basculer le poste en Ingénieur de Recherche)

As part of the European DISCOVER project, which aims to design two robots for the intelligent acquisition and analysis of data on materials from demolition sites with a view to their reuse. From a sociological perspective, we have set two objectives: to analyze how the proposed technologies can be adapted to existing professional practices and to analyze how markets are developing that could accommodate waste-turned-resources. With this in mind, we are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher in sociology or political science within our Interdisciplinary Department of Social Sciences (DI2S). To address these issues, we will prioritize a qualitative approach based primarily on literature review, observation, and semi-structured interviews.
In collaboration with Sarah Ghaffari, you will participate in the empirical research (conducting literature reviews, conducting semi-structured interviews, contributing to the analysis of documents, etc.), contribute to the scientific discourse, and disseminate and promote the knowledge and results produced at national and international conferences. You will also contribute to their integration into the MOOCs planned as part of the research project.
You will provide administrative support for project management (coordination) and help organize scientific events.

You have knowledge in one or more in one or more of the following fields: sociology of science and technology (STS); sociology of markets; urban policy, public policies addressing environmental performance in the building sector, particularly waste management and circular economy.
We will carefully review applications that demonstrate knowledge of the literature on the circular economy, human-robot interactions, the (de)construction sector, or socio-technical innovation processes.
You are proficient qualitative research methods, including in-depth semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, focus groups) and have experience conducting comparative studies
You have an excellent command of both French (required for qualitative survey conducted in France) and English (working language of the international consortium).
You are self-reliant, organized, have strong writing skills, and demonstrate initiative.
You are capable of working within an interdisciplinary research team (sociology, robotics, computer science, energy, environmental science).
The ideal candidate must hold a Ph.D. in sociology or political science obtained no more than 3 years prior to the start date (October 1, 2026). (Note: If the candidate exceeds the 3-year deadline but has relevant experience, there is the possibility of reclassifying the position as a Research Engineer.)
