Principal Product Manager

Job description

We are a profitable, mission-driven fintech company building financial solutions for people whose needs go unmet by traditional institutions – people with disabilities, older adults, and people in recovery, and the families and professionals who care for them. We get to wake up every day knowing our work has a profound impact on our customers' lives, and we run the business with the discipline to keep doing it for the long haul. That track record has earned us a spot on the Forbes Fintech 50 and the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing companies for the last two years. We're hiring a Principal Product Manager to lead us in building the right thing for our bank and card partnership-based capabilities. You’ll shape what we deliver to our Family Banking partners and their account holders, balancing customer needs, partner realities, technical constraints, regulatory considerations, and business strategy. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who works hypothesis-first, and is comfortable in the complexity of financial services. You’ll love this role if you’re energized by difficult product problems with real-world consequences, enjoy working directly with sophisticated external partners and clients, and want to help shape the next generation of family banking. Because our products sit at the intersection of banking, payments, operations, compliance, and deeply human customer needs, the work requires rigor, judgment, and unusually strong cross-functional thinking. Our customers and partners depend on us to execute thoughtfully and reliably - and we care deeply about getting it right. **What You’ll Do** - Own product areas related to our card and family banking partner ecosystem, helping shape both near-term execution and long-term strategy. - Work directly with bank partners and sophisticated external clients to understand needs, shape a compelling “why,” solve problems collaboratively, and turn partnership opportunities into scalable products and systems. - Build full-stack fintech products spanning customer experience, operational workflows, APIs, payment rails, and partner infrastructure. - Partner deeply with engineering, design, operations, compliance, customer support, and go-to-market teams to ensure we are building the right things in the right sequence - and shipping them with high quality. - Use AI, prototyping, data, customer conversations, and direct product exploration to accelerate learning and compress feedback loops. - Bring clarity to ambiguity. Navigate competing priorities, evolving constraints, and operational complexity while helping the broader organization stay focused on what matters most. - Lead through influence, judgment, and execution rather than org structure or management authority. - Go deep when execution requires it - refining edge cases, writing clear specs, improving operational processes, and unblocking teams. **Who You Are** - An experienced product leader with 10+ years in product management and deep fintech experience, with strong instincts around how financial products actually work in the real world. - Someone who loves being an individual contributor and wants to stay close to the work: solving problems, shipping products, refining systems, and collaborating directly with teammates and customers. - Comfortable moving fluidly between big-picture strategy and nitty-gritty implementation details, especially in complex, fast-moving environments with many stakeholders and competing constraints. - Strong with both external partners and internal stakeholders - thoughtful, credible, low-ego, and able to build trust quickly across a wide range of audiences. - Technically curious and architecturally literate. You want to understand how the systems work underneath the product, not just what appears on the surface. - Motivated more by customer impact, execution, and building excellent products than by status, empire-building, or trend-chasing. - Comfortable working in ambiguity and complexity, with the ability to bring structure, clarity, and momentum to difficult cross-functional problems. - Deeply curious, intellectually honest, and highly evidence-driven. You’re comfortable changing your mind when the facts change. - Excited by the opportunity to help build infrastructure and products that genuinely improve people’s financial lives. - You may also have experience in operations, strategy, management consulting, or other highly analytical and cross-functional environments - but wherever you come from, you’re ultimately motivated by building excellent products and solving real problems for real people. **Why You’ll Love Us** - We operate with the pace of a startup, the rigor of a financial services firm, and the mission-orientation of a company that deeply cares about the people it serves. - With fifty million Americans in our addressable market, we are building for the millions of people who need our products and services across the country - and we’ve got the potential to reach many more. - We have the privilege of providing financial protection for vulnerable members of society and partnering with expert service providers to do so. Our customers and partners love us, and we love them back. You can sleep soundly every night knowing you are doing a great thing by getting our services into more hands. - We treat one another like we treat our customers: with respect and dignity. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are cultural values we take very seriously, and we welcome and recruit team members of all backgrounds and identities. - We offer competitive wages, health, dental & vision coverage, paid parental leave, 12 paid holidays each year, your own professional development budget, and generous vacation. - The majority of us work from home from all across the US, and we enjoy connecting virtually for laughs with teammates and meeting up in-person: we have small offices in SF and in Kingston NY, and we plan team get-togethers around the country. If you are a high-performing person who wants to join a diverse, inclusive team and use your skills to make a real impact in people’s lives, we invite you to apply to join our team.
