Role Summary As a Product Design Engineer, you will conceptualize and create innovative designs that meet product specifications and cost targets. You'll collaborate across teams to ensure feasibility, optimize designs for performance and manufacturing, and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen workshops. Main Tasks Responsible for the design and development of filtration systems. Conceptualizes complex new product designs, changes, and concepts to meet internal and external product specifications, cost, and timing. Works with cross-functional teams to evaluate product designs and specifications, determining feasibility while minimizing costs for development and manufacturing. Collaborates with operations to understand process capabilities and provides product design recommendations aligned with production strategies. Coordinates all computer-aided engineering (CAE) necessary to validate product designs analytically. Analyzes results to optimize design for performance, robust manufacturing, and cost efficiency. Completes CAD tasks as assigned by the Lead Product Engineer (LPE) and/or Manager – Design & Development. Occasionally coordinates and reviews engineering and CAD tasks with GBTS. Actively participates in and supports Kaizen/DLS workshops and annual objectives. Completes required tasks for each Gate per xSEP process. Minimum Educational Requirement Vocational Training or Comparable Qualification in Engineering or Related fields Your Profile Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience: Familiarity with Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) Basic understanding of fluid dynamics Required Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities Excellent task organization and time management skills to meet project deadlines Flexibility for travel and attendance at Filtration training in Europe Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience (including internships) Proficiency in NX, CATIA, or Creo Background in the Heavy-Duty (HD) or Automotive industry Experience with casting and injection molding Previous involvement in filtration projects
