Product Operations Intern, Rewards

Job description

**About Sezzle:** With a mission to financially empower the next generation, Sezzle is revolutionizing the shopping experience beyond payments, blending cutting-edge tech with a wide range of flexible payment options designed to give customers more choice, accessibility, and a smarter overall experience. We're not just transforming payments; we're redefining how people discover, interact with, and purchase the things they love while driving real impact on merchant sales through increased conversions and higher order values. As we continue to shape the future of fintech and retail, we're building an innovative, dynamic team passionate about creating more than just a transaction but a truly unique shopping journey. If you're excited about pushing boundaries in tech and delivering a game-changing experience for consumers and merchants alike, come join us at Sezzle and help create the future of shopping! **About the Role:** We are seeking a curious, driven, and detail-oriented **Product Operations Intern** to join our Rewards team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment within a growing team, with abundant prospects for career advancement. Rewards is where Sezzle turns everyday shopping into value for our customers. Through the Earn experience in the Sezzle app, shoppers earn Sezzle Points by scanning receipts, completing offers, and engaging with our partners. Receipt scanning is one of our newest and fastest-growing earning features, and you'll be one of the people closest to it. You'll see how it works in the real world, find where it breaks, and help decide what gets fixed first. This is an operations role with a strong product lens. You'll work with the product manager, engineering, design, and data teams to make sure the receipt scanning experience is accurate, fair, and hard to abuse. Your work will feed directly into what the team builds next. If you like finding patterns in messy real-world data and turning them into clear recommendations, this role is for you. **What You'll Do:** **Receipt Quality & Validation Operations** - Own the day-to-day quality of receipt scanning submissions. Review submissions against validation rules, make approve/reject decisions, and apply them consistently. - Spot edge cases the current system misses, such as unusual receipt formats, retailer-specific quirks, duplicates, and signs of abuse. Document them clearly so the team can handle them at scale. **Product Feedback & Prioritization** - Turn what you see in submissions into actionable feedback for engineering: clear bug reports, reproducible examples, and suggested improvements to extraction and validation logic. - Keep a prioritized list of what needs improvement and why. Rank it by customer impact, fraud risk, and operational cost, and help the product manager bring it into planning. - Track fixes through the backlog. Follow up on status, confirm improvements work once shipped, and flag regressions. **Documentation & Process Improvement** - Write and maintain clear review guidelines, decision criteria, and escalation paths so decisions stay consistent as the program scales. - Find parts of the review workflow that can be automated, simplified, or removed. Help shape the internal tools the team uses. **What We Look For:** - Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience - A genuine interest in consumer fintech, rewards and loyalty programs, or how products run at scale behind the scenes - Strong attention to detail: you notice when something's off, and you care about getting it right every time, not just most of the time - A structured, logical mindset: you enjoy finding the pattern behind individual cases and turning it into a rule, a fix, or a recommendation - Effective written and verbal communication: you can write a bug report an engineer can act on right away, and summarize a trend clearly for a non-technical audience - Prior experience in internships, projects, or extracurriculars related to operations, product, fintech, data analysis, trust & safety, or startups is a plus. We hire for potential, not just pedigree. - Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required; candidates must be comfortable leveraging AI to enhance productivity, research, and communication. **About You:** - You have relentlessly high standards — many people may think your standards are unreasonably high. You are continually raising the bar and driving those around you to deliver great results. You make sure that defects do not get sent down the line and that problems are fixed so they stay fixed. - You're not bound by convention — your success and much of the fun lies in developing new ways to do things. - You need action — speed matters in business. Many decisions and actions are reversible and do not need extensive study. We value calculated risk-taking. - You earn trust — you listen attentively, speak candidly, and treat others respectfully. - You have backbone; disagree, then commit — you can respectfully challenge decisions when you disagree, even when doing so is uncomfortable or exhausting. You have conviction and are tenacious. You do not compromise for the sake of social cohesion. Once a decision is determined, you commit wholly. - You deliver results — you focus on the key inputs and deliver them with the right quality and in a timely fashion. Despite setbacks, you rise to the occasion and never settle. **What Makes Working at Sezzle Awesome:** At Sezzle, we are more than just brilliant engineers, passionate data enthusiasts, out-of-the-box thinkers, and determined innovators. We believe in surrounding ourselves with only the best and the brightest individuals. Our culture is not defined by a certain set of perks designed to give the illusion of the traditional startup culture, but rather, it is the visible example living in every employee that we hire. **Compensation**: The salary for the Product Operations Intern is $2.800.000 COP monthly. #Li-remote #Full-time
