Product Owner - Customer Experience

Rohlik is the leading Central European e-grocer. More than a million customers buy their groceries from us through [](http://Rohlik.cz), [](http://Knuspr.de), [](http://Kifli.hu), [](http://Gurkerl.at), and [](http://Sezamo.ro), choosing from over 17,000 items delivered within hours in 15-minute windows. How our customers shop is rapidly evolving. While our mobile app and website have long been the primary touchpoints, increasingly it also means an ongoing conversation with Maia, our proprietary AI shopping assistant already handling tens of thousands of conversations daily. We are looking for a Product Owner to take accountability for a distinct segment of the customer journey—spanning areas across search & discovery, personalization, basket, slot choice, checkout, order tracking, substitutions, Rohlik Xtra, or Maia—and make it measurably better week after week. ## Why this role is exciting - **High-velocity deployment:** Work directly with engineers who ship to production multiple times a day behind feature flags. A decision made on Monday reaches live customers by Tuesday. - **Radical customer obsession:** We prioritize decisions that deliver genuine value to the household on the other end of the order, even when they are harder for us to build. - **AI-first environment:** Build in a modern setup where product engineers and product owners use tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Devin daily for fast vibe-coding and rapid prototyping. - **Multi-market operational impact:** Directly influence how a single product scales across five European markets, solving complex operational seams like out-of-stocks, substitutions, and slot capacity. ## What you will own and deliver - **Journey outcomes & metrics:** Own the business and customer metrics for your agreed part of the journey, making day-to-day prioritization decisions that directly drive performance. - **First-hand customer insights:** Talk to customers weekly through interviews, home visits, customer care shadowing, and feedback channels. Turn real observations into crisp problem statements and validated backlog items. - **Backlog management:** Translate the product vision into explicit problem statements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Make clear calls on what ships, what waits, and what gets cut. - **Hypothesis-driven experimentation:** Design A/B tests with clear hypotheses and pre-defined kill metrics. Evaluate performance independently and sunset features that fail to deliver value. - **Hands-on analytics:** Query product analytics and the data warehouse directly using SQL. Report weekly performance metrics and distinguish product impact from operational noise. - **Prototyping & cell delivery:** Embed daily with a dedicated 3–5 person engineering cell as the voice of the customer. Vibe-code early prototypes using AI tooling during requirements analysis instead of relying on static mock-ups. - **Five-market product alignment:** Balance local operational requirements across CZ, DE, HU, AT, and RO with a unified product vision, using data to justify when to build vs. when to say no. ## What we are looking for - **Product ownership track record:** 3+ years owning a consumer product backlog on web or native apps as a Product Owner or Product Manager, with a proven track record of shipping features with clear metrics. - **Data-driven analytical skills:** Strong SQL proficiency and experience designing and reading A/B tests. Ability to distinguish statistically significant results from noise and pair numbers with qualitative user insights. - **Hands-on experience with AI tooling:** Experience using Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools to build prototypes, along with a practical perspective on where LLMs add real value in a retail shopping funnel. - **Stakeholder management without authority:** Strong persuasion and communication skills to align engineers, design, Commercial, and Operations behind product decisions without formal reporting authority. - **Language requirements:** Fluent English is required. Conversational Czech, German, or Hungarian is a plus. - Experience in businesses with proprietary fulfillment and logistics (online grocery, q-commerce, food delivery, or logistics-heavy marketplaces) **is a big plus**. Including understanding of key metrics like substitution rates and slot fill. ## **What’s in it for you** - **Fair reward** - You’ll get a strong fixed salary, no bonus games, no politics. Great work is rewarded clearly and fairly. - **Good food every day** - You’ll enjoy a free lunch every day and fresh fruit & veggies in the office. Because good food fuels great work. - **Life, not just work** - You’ll have real flexibility three days in the office, 2 days at the Home Office where it suits you. And unlimited paid vacation based on trust. - **Personal growth** - You’ll grow as fast as Rohlik does. Every challenge is a chance to learn and make an impact. - **Real impact** - What you do here matters. You’ll see your work changing how people eat and live from day one. - **Recognition among colleagues** - Your effort won’t go unnoticed. You can recognise others (and be recognised) through peer credits to use in our internal cafeteria. - **Xtra membership** - You’ll get free Xtra membership and 10% cashback on everything you buy on [](http://Rohlik.cz). - **Sport & wellbeing** - You’ll stay active with company sports challenges or a subsidised Multisport card. - **A team that sticks together** - You’ll work with people who move fast, support each other and celebrate wins together. - **If this sounds like you** -You’re someone who takes ownership, acts fast and gets things done.
