PRODUCTION SPICE - MATERIAL HANDLER ASSOCIATE Job Summary: The Material Handler will transport required packaging to and from production lines and warehouse areas using a pallet jack. Will also be responsible to dump product components into feed hoppers, hang supersacks and use the RF Scanner to make product transfers. Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Continuously and repeatedly load packaging and raw materials. • Make product changeover and clean equipment in use. • Understand scheduling and can adequately perform in the absence of the crew leader. • Ability to learn and use the RF Scanner and computer system to record production and inventory transfers. • Be responsible for the quality and quantity of production daily. • Navigate computer system to locate items and locations and to pull item(s) as required. • Follow detailed procedures and complete paperwork accurately to ensure safe, consistent, and quality product. • Accurately complete lot production form • Actively promote safety and identify unsafe actions and conditions. • Replenish production line(s) by operating a forklift, sac hoist and /or pallet jack in a safe manner. • Know basic math and mathematically calculate production used in production quantities. • Ability to learn and understand People Soft • Ability to accurately add and subtract. • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Team Lead. Performance Standards (the criteria that will be used to evaluate performance) • Document lots accurately • Accurate reading of production paperwork/dispatch sheet • Ability to accurately locate, transfer, measure, weigh ingredients as well as slot materials • Perform numerical calculations accurately • Proficient understanding of computer system • Timely transport of production packaging and materials to production lines • Ability to accurately add and subtract What We Are Looking For: Characteristics, skills, experience, education and performance history needed for success in the position: • Demonstrated proficiency in the following skills: ◦ Ability to work and thrive under time constraints ◦ Must be able to perform numerical calculations ◦ Proficient in the use of a computer system ◦ Possess strong problem-solving skills • Essential Physical Demands ◦ Ability to frequently walk throughout the production area and stand for extended periods of time. ◦ Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, packaging, and product components repeatedly up to 30lbs unassisted during the workday. ◦ Ability to safely operate or maneuver pallet jacks, forklifts, hoists, and related material-handling equipment as required. ◦ Ability to work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, temperature changes, and moving equipment. ◦ Ability to use hands and arms for grasping, handling, scanning, and completing paperwork. • Education & Experience: ◦ High School diploma or equivalency 1-2 years of experience in a related field
