Program Manager Excellence Lead

Job description

## **Our Story** Pointr is the market leader in Indoor Mapping, Location and Analytics, and the inventor of AI-based map production. Its innovative (20+ patents) Pointr Maps™ platform is used by millions of users across offices, retail locations, airports, hospitals, and more every month. As the top choice of Fortune 100 customers and billions of sqft. deployed globally (30+ countries), Pointr is always on the lookout for great team members to support its fast growth. Our core values are **Ownership**, **Harmony**, and **Scale**, and we look for Passionate, Kind, and No-Ego team members to join the team. # Role Overview We're building a Program Management Office (PMO) at Pointr and are looking for a Program Manager Excellence to lead it. This role owns the management, coaching, and performance of our Technical Project Manager (TPM) team, a distributed group based in the US and Turkey, and is responsible for building the standards, tools, and rhythms that let that team deliver consistently excellent outcomes for our global clients. This is a hybrid people-leadership and process role: you'll manage TPMs directly, while also designing the playbooks, KPIs, and governance that turn individual project wins into a repeatable, scalable delivery function. You'll work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Delivery, and Engineering leadership to make sure delivery capacity, quality, and client experience scale with the business. You're a strong fit if you've led distributed technical project teams servicing enterprise customers before, are energized by building process from scratch, and know how to balance hands-on coaching with executive-level reporting — all while working across US and Turkey time zones. # What You'll Do - Build and lead Pointr's Program Management Office (PMO), setting the vision, structure, and operating rhythm for the TPM function - Directly manage a team of Technical Project Managers based in the US and Turkey, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management - Define and roll out standardized delivery methodology, templates, and playbooks across the full project lifecycle — from requirements gathering through deployment and ongoing support - Establish and track portfolio-level KPIs (on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, resource utilization, risk exposure) across all concurrent client deployments - Own portfolio-level visibility for leadership: consolidate project status, risks, and resourcing across the TPM team into clear, executive-ready reporting - Drive quality evaluations of all completed implementations, including customer and end user experience evaluations. - Serve as an escalation point for at-risk projects, partnering with TPMs and technical teams to unblock delivery issues before they impact clients - Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering leadership on capacity planning, staffing forecasts, and cross-functional process alignment - Standardize the toolset used for project tracking and reporting (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet) and drive consistent adoption across the team - Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and knowledge-sharing across a geographically distributed team, with a focus on increasing quality and reducing time to implementation. - Stay close to Pointr's product and technology so the PMO's standards reflect real deployment realities, and feed field learnings back into the product roadmap # What Success Looks Like - First 90 days: you've met every TPM and key stakeholder, mapped the current project portfolio and delivery pain points, and have a clear point of view on where the PMO should focus first. - 6 months: a standardized delivery playbook and reporting cadence are in place, KPIs are being tracked consistently across both regions, and the TPM team feels supported and aligned around shared standards. - 12 months: the PMO is a trusted, visible function — delivery performance is consistent and predictable across the US and Turkey, leadership has clear portfolio-level visibility, and the team is set up to scale as Pointr grows. # What We Seek - 8–12+ years of experience in customer facing technical program/project management, including experience managing or leading a team of project or technical project managers - Prior experience building, running, or scaling a PMO or centralized delivery function within a technology, SaaS, or hardware company - Demonstrated success managing distributed, cross-border teams, ideally spanning US and international (EMEA/Turkey) time zones - Strong grounding in project/program delivery methodology (Agile, hybrid) and the ability to translate it into practical, adoptable playbooks - Track record of defining and reporting on delivery KPIs to senior leadership - Excellent people-leadership skills: coaching, performance management, and building a strong team culture across geographies - Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable operating across technical, commercial, and leadership audiences - Ability to work a schedule with meaningful overlap across US (EST) and Turkey (TRT) business hours - Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English # Preferred Qualifications - Experience in indoor location technology, IoT, hardware deployment, or other complex physical/technical implementation environments - PMP®, PgMP®, or Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) certification - Experience setting up a PMO function from the ground up in a scaling startup working with Global 500 and other enterprise customers - Demonstrable experience with project and portfolio tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar - BS or MS degree in a relevant technical, business, or management field # What We Offer - A supportive, kind (no-ego), and smart team - International environment and inclusive culture - Competitive base salary, attractive stock options, and uncapped renewal commission - Private health care (75%) and Dental - Company-sponsored parental leave - 18 days PTO, plus sick time + 12 holidays per year - 401(k) retirement scheme #LI-HYBRID **Do Not Meet Every Requirement? Apply anyway.** We are not looking for perfect resumes. We are looking for the right teammate who is excited to contribute to our mission and grow with us. ## **We Succeed Together** Great outcomes happen when talented, diverse people come together with a shared purpose. We value empathy, humility, and expertise, and we believe the best ideas come from collaboration, thoughtful challenges, and open feedback. We empower our teams with clear goals and ownership, creating an environment where everyone can contribute, grow, and succeed.
