Job description
Project Manager (DoD / Government Programs) At Applied Technology Solutions (ATS), our Project Managers lead the delivery of mission-critical programs that matter. In this role, you will own programs end-to-end—driving performance across cost, schedule, and technical execution—while building strong, trusted relationships with customers in DoD and government environments. You won’t just manage timelines, you’ll lead teams, solve complex problems, and deliver results that have real-world impact. What You’ll Do Own full program execution across cost, schedule, and technical performance (CST) Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, finance, etc.) to deliver high-impact solutions Build and manage program plans, schedules, and budgets, including forecasting and resource planning Serve as the primary customer interface, building trusted relationships and identifying opportunities for growth Ensure alignment with contract scope, managing changes through formal change control processes Proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities, driving mitigation and resolution Deliver clear, actionable program reporting to leadership and customers Ensure compliance with ATS processes, quality standards, and government requirements Manage subcontractors and external partners when applicable What We’re Looking For Experience managing programs in DoD or government contracting environments Proven ability to deliver across cost, schedule, and technical baselines Strong leadership skills with experience guiding cross-functional teams Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-accountability environments Excellent communication and customer-facing skills A proactive, ownership-driven mindset Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 8+ years of program or project management experience Experience with government contracts, compliance, and reporting structures Active Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar frameworks Background in engineering, defense systems, or technical programs Experience managing subcontractors or multi-partner programs Direct experience with hypersonics, reentry vehicles, or similar flight vehicle systems Why ATS Work on mission-driven programs that support national security and critical operations Join a team that values ownership, trust, and execution Have real decision-making authority and impact Grow your career in a high-performance, low-bureaucracy environment Equal Employment Opportunity: Applied Technology Solutions, Inc.
