Our Behavioral Health team offers comprehensive mental health services in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Position Overview MercyOne Waterloo/Cedar Falls Behavioral Health Care is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with Psychiatric Mental Health certification to join our established, well-respected, and growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy instant volume and collaborate with a strong multidisciplinary team. Practice Highlights Join an established, well-respected, and growing practice . Current team: 1 General Psychiatrist 1 Child Psychiatrist 1 Psych Hospitalist 1 ARNP Clinic-based role with shared call responsibilities. Call schedule: Weekday: 1:5* Weekend: 1:7* (*subject to change) Includes consults and inpatient unit coverage. Facilities: 20-bed Inpatient Unit at Waterloo Medical Center Horizons Chemical Dependency Unit Large support staff of psychologists, social workers, and mental health counselors. Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage treatment plans for patients with mental health conditions. Prescribe medications and monitor therapeutic responses. Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other health professionals to ensure continuity of care. Provide patient education and support for families. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Qualifications Current Iowa license as a Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C). Psychiatric Mental Health certification required . Experience in behavioral health or psychiatry strongly desired. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Schedule & Compensation Schedule: Monday–Friday, with shared call as noted above. Compensation: Competitive salary with comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, vision, retirement plan, CME allowance, and paid time off.
