Job description
Summary: Administration of a course of radiation therapy treatment via implementation of prescribed, detailed plan from the radiation oncologist to cure disease and/or relieve pain while minimizing adverse outcomes. Maintains a prompt daily schedule plan as well as appropriately assessing and reporting patient tolerance and comfort throughout the entire treatment course. Performing required imaging as well as daily billing, machine warm-up and QA testing, schedule simulation procedure duties. Responsibilities: 1. 65% - Treatment administration, patient positioning and associated equipment handling. Associated documentation and verification tasks, 2D imaging tasks. 2. 20% - CBCT (3D) imaging and associated tasks. 3. 10% - Simulation procedures and pre-treatment associated documentation and chart review tasks. 4. 5% - Device fabrication, billing, minor schedule adjusting, in-house patient transport. 5. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 6. Performs other duties as assigned. Education: ASSOCIATE'S LVL DGRE Other Information: Required: Varian machine experience, linear accelerator w/on board imaging simulation procedures and immoblization techniques Minimum Experience: three years Desired: Experience preferred. Computer skills, efficiency and concentration skills. Working Conditions: Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity Occupational: Significant occupational risk Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort.
