Franciscan Health Indianapolis Campus 8111 S Emerson Ave Indianapolis, Indiana 46237 Within Franciscan Health, the Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technologist II conducts and analyses electroencephalography (EEG), and performs additional critical tests for patients across all ages. The Technologist conducts testing in the outpatient, inpatient hospital, or operating room environment, documents results, and reports findings to designated physicians. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Disinfect testing room, equipment, and supplies, in accordance with departmental/facility infection control policies. Recognize, document, and report critical tests results to the designated interpreting physician. Document pertinent patient medical history, including current medications and circumstances surrounding reported symptoms. Determine any contraindications to testing or monitoring protocols, based on patient history or physician orders. Customize the recording procedure appropriately, as per referral evaluation, patient history or observed EEG waveforms. Conduct EEG, and other neurodiagnostic testing, appropriate to the patient's age, and according to departmental policies and procedures. Assist in additional conductions: Evoked Potentials (EP) or Nerve Conductions (NCS) or Long Term Monitoring (LTM)/ Intensive Care Monitoring (ICU) or Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IOM). Customize the END recording procedure appropriately, as per referral evaluation, patient history or observed END waveforms. Differentiate artifacts from cerebral or peripheral nerve responses, and troubleshoot possible causes, documenting steps taken to alleviate such artifacts. Ensure procedures are appropriately logged, charged and distributed to the interpreting physician. Participate in on-call rotation to provide off shift coverage, including weekends and holidays, as required.
