Job description
Registered Veterinary Nurse — Newcastle Kingston Park Newcastle (Kingston Park) | Full-time or part-time | No OOH | £29,500 to £32,000 FTE About us We are a family-owned Vets for Pets practice operating two modern, purpose-built surgeries in the North East, Newcastle Kingston Park and Gateshead (Metro Centre). As Joint Venture Partners we combine the resources and support of the wider Pets at Home Vet Group with the clinical freedom and personal touch of a locally owned practice. The practice is owned by Samantha Sauer MRCVS and Mark Sauer, who are on site rather than at a head office. Team wellbeing is at the heart of how we work. Rotas are individually tailored, development is taken seriously, and every team member has a genuine voice in how we run the practice. The role We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at V4P Newcastle Kingston Park. This is a hands-on nursing role in a small team where you will know every client and most of the patients by name. We actively encourage Schedule 3 work and you will run your own nurse clinics with real client contact, rather than fitting them in around everything else. The caseload is 100% small animal and varied, and we will support you to develop the areas of nursing that interest you. The role is available full-time at 37.5 hours or part-time, and the rota can be built around you. Weekends are covered on a rota basis with time off during the week. There is no out-of-hours work. What we offer £29,500 to £32,000 FTE (pro-rata for part-time), depending on experience Flexible, personalised rota, full-time or part-time, built around you No OOH, and weekends on a rota basis with time off during the week Schedule 3 actively encouraged, with nurse clinics, anaesthesia, in-patient care and laboratory work Unlimited CPD with no set budget, individual nursing interests actively supported Paid RCVS and other memberships open for discussion. 5.6 weeks annual leave including public holidays, rising to 6.6 weeks after two complete years of service. Overtime is rare and is paid or taken back in lieu Full team input into clinical protocols and policies A bright, spacious, air-conditioned surgery built to industry-leading standards, with digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory and blood pressure monitoring 20% discount at the Vet Group, Pets at Home and the Groom Room, plus pension and wider group benefits What we are looking for RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse, currently registered and in good standing Good general practice experience. We will consider applications across the experience range, from nurses in their first couple of years through to experienced RVNs holding a certificate Strong communication and client care skills, with a genuine interest in animal welfare Confident working as part of a small team and comfortable using your own initiative An interest in developing nurse clinics and Schedule 3 work The North East Newcastle and Gateshead are genuinely outstanding places to live and work. The region offers vibrant city life, beautiful coast and countryside, and some of the most affordable housing in England, with fast rail connections to London in under three hours and a busy international airport.
