# Remote Senior Plumbing & Mechanical Piping BIM Specialist (Construction / VDC) > · Mexico (Remote) · — · Posted 2026-08-06 **Workplace:** remote **Department:** Mechanical Engineer ## Description ### About the Role We are looking for a **Senior Plumbing & Mechanical Piping BIM Specialist** to join a growing U.S.-based VDC team supporting complex commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects. This is **not a design-focused position**. We are looking for someone with a strong **construction-side mindset** who understands how plumbing and mechanical piping systems are fabricated, coordinated, and installed in the field. The ideal candidate has extensive experience developing **fabrication-ready BIM models**, producing **shop drawings**, supporting **prefabrication**, resolving coordination issues, and working closely with construction teams throughout project execution. ### Responsibilities - Develop highly detailed Plumbing and Mechanical Piping BIM models using **Revit** and **Revit Fabrication Parts**. - Produce fabrication-ready models, shop drawings, spool drawings, and installation documentation. - Perform multidisciplinary MEP coordination using **Navisworks** and BIM workflows. - Identify and resolve clashes and constructability issues before construction. - Support prefabrication by producing accurate fabrication models, spool assemblies, and quantity takeoffs. - Model piping systems, hangers, supports, sleeves, penetrations, and fabrication assemblies. - Coordinate directly with project managers, VDC teams, engineers, fabricators, and field personnel. - Ensure models accurately reflect installation requirements and construction sequencing. - Participate in coordination meetings and proactively resolve field coordination challenges. ## Requirements - 5+ years of experience in Plumbing and/or Mechanical Piping BIM modeling. - Strong proficiency with **Revit**. - Advanced experience using **Revit Fabrication Parts**. - Strong working knowledge of **Navisworks**. - Proven experience producing **shop drawings**, **spool drawings**, and fabrication-ready BIM models. - Strong construction-side experience supporting fabrication, prefabrication, installation, and field coordination. - Solid understanding of constructability, installation sequencing, clash detection, and BIM coordination. - Experience modeling plumbing and mechanical piping systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, mission-critical, or data center projects. - Direct experience working on **U.S. projects**, with knowledge of U.S. construction practices and standards. - Experience collaborating with U.S.-based engineering and construction teams. - Senior-level professional capable of working independently, owning project deliverables, and moving projects forward with minimal supervision. - Professional English communication skills. - Available to join the team in the short term. ### Preferred Qualifications - Experience with domestic water, sanitary, storm, gas, and specialty plumbing systems. - Experience with mechanical piping prefabrication workflows. - Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and BIM 360. - Experience supporting data center or mission-critical projects. ### What We Offer - Long-term remote opportunity with a growing U.S. VDC company. - Work on challenging commercial and mission-critical projects across the United States. - Collaborative team environment with experienced VDC professionals. - Competitive compensation based on experience. - Opportunity to grow into technical leadership as the team continues to expand. ## Benefits - Work for the most exciting companies in the North American Market. - Flexible schedules. - Work from anywhere. - Highly competitive compensation. ## Apply [Apply at ](https://apply.workable.com/uptalent-dot-i-o/j/2E38E6CAAA/apply) --- Powered by [Workable](https://www.workable.com)
