We are looking for RNs in the following departments: * Cath Lab (Jewish, Mary and Elizabeth, South Hospitals) * CVOR (Jewish Hospital) * Endoscopy * EP Lab (Jewish Hospital) * Interventional Radiology * Main OR * Outpatient Surgery * Pre-Op * PACU The Registered Nurse is a competent nurse that will deliver nursing care to patients of varying age groups by utilizing the nursing process and nursing practice standards. The Registered Nurse demonstrates competency caring for complex patients and participates on the care team to improve the quality of care in the clinical area. The Registered Nurse uses: *Nursing Practice Competencies to intervene to achieve safe, optimal patient and family centered care health outcomes; *Leadership Competencies to coordinate patient care and communicate with the care team; *Professional Profile Competencies to develop professionally as a life-long learner, and *Practice Outcomes Competencies to evaluate care based on evidence, the UofL Health quality model, and patient safety goals. Surgical procedures offered at Shelbyville Hospital include ENT, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Pulmonology, Urology, & Vascular Surgery. South Hospital: With approximately 170,000 square feet, UofL Health – South Hospital brings modern and spacious inpatient rooms, enhanced emergency capabilities, increased surgical and outpatient services, new intensive care services, more primary care and specialty providers and more job and volunteer opportunities. South Hospital features a Cardiac catheterization lab with 24/7 STEMI network, Vascular lab, and six operating rooms. UofL Hospital: The Surgical Services Department at UofL Hospital is comprised of several departments in multiple locations. The department provides services to adult patients in the areas of inpatient and outpatient surgery, endoscopy, pain management, interventional nephrology, and infusion services. Surgical specialties include general surgery, colorectal, plastics, urology, vascular and endovascular therapeutics, thoracic, surgical oncology, trauma, OB-GYN, gynecologic oncology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, ENT, oral maxillofacial, hand surgery and podiatry. Endoscopy specialties include gastroenterology, general surgery, colorectal surgery and pulmonology. UofL Hospital has 22 operating rooms. Fourteen of these rooms are main operating rooms located within UofL Hospital with two featuring the da Vinci® Robot and integrated to meet the needs of these robotic surgery procedures. The other four operating rooms are located at the UofL Physicians – Outpatient Surgery Center. Over 12,000 procedures are completed in our operating rooms annually. Additional Job Description: Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program is (required) All new-hire Associate Degree Registered Nurses (new graduate and experienced) are required to start an approved BSN program within one (1) year of hire and complete an approved BSN program within three (3) years of hire (required at UofL Hospital only) . Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program (preferred) Experience: All new RN graduates will participate in the Nurse Residency program and must successfully complete all activities (required) Two years of hospital patient care experience (preferred) Licensure: Current KY RN licensure or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required) Certification: Basic Life Saving (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (may be required for specific clinical areas)
