Robot Fleet Maintenance Lead

Job description

**About Maven** Maven Robotics designs, builds, and deploys intelligent robotics for logistics and manufacturing. Maven is building the first general-purpose robotics system for industrial work. Our mission is to activate autonomous labor at scale and build toward infinitely elastic industrial capacity. We’re a team of engineers, researchers, and operators who have spent our careers working on the hardest problems in AI, robotics, engineering, and autonomous systems. We work at the intersection of advanced research and real-world engineering, turning ideas into prototypes and deployed systems. At Maven, we build around the realities of industrial work. The robots are designed from first principles for complex physical environments and rigorous commercial standards. They master real tasks that deliver immediate impact, industrial-grade reliability, and intelligence that compounds at scale. We’re growing an ambitious team of people who think in systems, move quickly, and are builders at heart. **About the Role** As a Robot Fleet Maintenance Lead at Maven Robotics, you will bridge the gap between small volume production, engineering, and procurement. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical engineers and technicians to service and maintain our robot fleet. As a senior member of the technical team, you will also help mentor technicians, drive quality, and continually improve our products and processes. **What You’ll Do** - **Leadership & Operations:** Develop and implement maintenance processes, oversee repairs, and coordinate service schedules for deployed and lab-based robots. - **Fleet Management:** Monitor fleet health, component performance, and deployment readiness using fleet management software. - **Troubleshooting & Repairs:** Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure robot reliability. - **Preventive Maintenance:** Develop and execute maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime and equipment failures. - **Emergency Response:** Prioritize and respond to urgent service requests, including after-hours customer support. - **Safety & Compliance:** Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, customer safety requirements, and robotics lab protocols. - **Inventory & Equipment Management:** Maintain service tools, parts inventory, equipment calibration, and purchasing needs. - **Mentorship:** Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior technicians and operators **What We’re Looking For** - 10+ years of hands-on experience in automotive service, manufacturing maintenance, prototyping, or R&D environments - Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical/military experience - Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams - Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and precision measurement tools, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, calipers, and micrometers - Solid understanding of BLDC/stepper motors, servo drives, and communication interfaces (CAN, EtherCAT, Serial, Ethernet) - Knowledge of safety standards, lab protocols, and maintenance best practices - Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with excellent attention to detail - Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, work in factory or warehouse environments, and travel to customer sites as needed **Nice to Have** - Experience with automated machine builds, robotics maintenance, and fleet servicing - Proficiency with lab automation tools (LabVIEW, Python/scripting) and service management software - Relevant industry certifications, including IPC standards, CNC/machining, or ISO quality standards - Experience working in fast-paced R&D or rapid prototyping environments **Equal Opportunity** Maven Robotics is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
