You'll be expected (and encouraged) to wield it daily. 🔥 The role Be the technical owner of our proxy platform: a 100% async Rust codebase (~50k lines, multi-repo) doing tens of millions of requests/day . The core is a hard distributed-systems problem — we coordinate a churning fleet of devices running our server as proxy and route live customer traffic through them over custom TLS + custom protocols. Your job: keep that fleet fast, reliable, and byte-accurately billed. This is a hands-on lead role. You'll mostly design, code, review, and debug production systems — not manage a large team. 🛠️ What you'll own 📡 Peer-fleet coordination & reliability — lifecycle, keep-alive, health checks, circuit breakers, zombie-peer detection, QoS-aware archiving 🔌 Core protocol work — proxy, SOCKS5, UDP, QUIC, and load balancing under real traffic 💵 Usage-metering correctness — every byte billed once across HTTP/CONNECT/SOCKS5 TCP+UDP and client aborts, verified by E2E tests 🛡️ Security & abuse prevention — domain/SSRF/rate-limit policy, anti-DDoS, per-datagram checks on UDP (incl.
