Job description

Love Great Drinks & Great People? Share our Passion for People and Spirits at JAK's! JAK’s Beer Wine Spirits is a family-owned, community-focused liquor retailer with 10 locations across BC. We don't just sell great products; we build a culture centred on gratitude, continuous learning, and FUN. What’s in It for You? (The Perks) We believe in taking care of the people who make us who we are. Here’s what you get when you join our team: Competitive Pay + Tips: Earn extra on top of your hourly wage. Paid Certifications & Training: Get your WSET, Prud'homme, or Whisky/Gin Ambassador certifications paid for by us, plus ongoing leadership development. Monthly Tasting Allowance: Discover new favourites and share tasting notes! Employee Discount: Save on your personal purchases. Product Knowledge Seminars: Includes complimentary tasting kits. Health & Medical Benefits: Comprehensive coverage keeps you feeling your best. Quarterly Incentives & Bonuses: Work together and share in our success. What You’ll Be Doing No two days are exactly the same, but your main focus will always be creating great experiences for our guests: Guest Engagement: Chat with customers, recommend local favourites, and suggest food pairings. Till & Checkout: Deliver friendly, efficient service at the register. Merchandising & Stocking: Receive orders, unload pallets, and keep the sales floor looking great. Inventory & Warehouse: Keep product stocked, organized, and ready for guests. Who We’re Looking For You don't need to be a master sommelier on day one - we’ll teach you! We’re looking for team members who bring energy and passion to the floor: Customer-First Attitude: You enjoy helping people and making connections. Retail or Hospitality Experience: Prior customer service experience is a plus. Product Curiosity: An interest in wine, craft beer, cider, or spirits (and an eagerness to keep learning!). Physical Readiness: Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and manage physical inventory work. Flexibility: Available to work evenings and weekends. Inclusive, Fun, & Ready for You At JAK’s, we welcome unique perspectives and diverse backgrounds. We want you to bring your authentic self to work every day. If you're ready to grow your career, work with an awesome team, and share your passion for great drinks, then cheers! We just popped a bottle with your name on it! Apply today; we can't wait to meet you!
