Sales Associate, New York

Job description

# **Institutional Fabric for the Digital Asset Market** Founded in 2018, Talos provides institutional-grade trading technology for the global digital asset market, powering many of the major players in the crypto ecosystem. Our mission is clear: to advance the mass adoption of digital assets by seamlessly connecting institutions to the digital asset ecosystem. We are committed to building the most innovative and trusted platform in the world, supporting the entire trading lifecycle. At Talos, you’ll find an environment that champions kindness and respect, values diverse perspectives, and upholds inclusivity at every turn. We believe every member of our team brings invaluable insights and abilities that drive Talos forward. In our pursuit of excellence, we foster a culture of trust, integrity, collaboration, and mutual growth. We are a tight-knit yet globally distributed team of highly experienced engineers and business leaders, with hubs in New York, London, Singapore, and Cyprus. Whether in-office or remote, you’ll be part of a hybrid-friendly environment where your unique talents and insights will play a crucial role in building something extraordinary. ## **Sales Associate** This is an early-career sales opportunity for individuals looking to build a long-term career at the intersection of institutional finance and digital assets. As a Sales Associate at Talos, you will work closely with senior Sales and Solutions colleagues across the full deal lifecycle - from initial outreach and qualification through to solutioning, trials, and close. You will develop strong product expertise, gain a deep understanding of institutional trading workflows, and contribute directly to pipeline generation and deal execution. Talos operates a structured, consultative sales environment. This role is well-suited to someone who is organized, intellectually curious, and motivated to understand how markets and trading infrastructure function. ## **Responsibilities** - Support pipeline generation through targeted prospecting, outreach, and early-stage qualification across Talos’s core client segments, including hedge funds, market makers, prime brokers, and digital asset service providers. - Participate in discovery and demo calls alongside senior sales team members, learning to map client workflows and requirements to Talos’s product capabilities. - Maintain high-quality CRM hygiene in Salesforce, ensuring all opportunities, contacts, and activities are accurately recorded and up to date. - Conduct market and account research to identify high-potential prospects and inform account prioritization strategies. - Coordinate cross-functionally with Solutions, Account Management, Product, and Engineering to advance deals and ensure accurate client communication. - Support proposal development, workflow documentation, and follow-up materials for active opportunities. - Capture and quantify product feedback and feature requests, connecting client insights to product roadmap discussions. - Build strong product knowledge over time, including Talos’s capabilities, competitive positioning, and technical architecture. - Represent Talos at industry conferences and client events to build relationships, enhance brand presence, and identify new business opportunities. ## **Requirements** - 1 - 2 years of experience in a client-facing role, ideally within enterprise SaaS, fintech, or institutional financial services. - Strong recent graduates with relevant internship experience will also be considered. - Demonstrated interest in financial markets, trading, and technology. - Familiarity with digital assets or crypto markets is advantageous but not required. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple workflows reliably. - Experience using CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) within a structured sales process. - Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in straightforward terms. - Coachable, proactive, and thoughtful in approach, with good judgment on when to escalate versus act independently. - High level of ownership and self-direction; able to identify priorities, remove blockers, and maintain momentum without constant guidance. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, distributed team environment with a high degree of autonomy. ## **Our Sales Approach** Talos operates a systematic, consultative sales process built around a simple principle: *listen first, sell second*. We take the time to understand a client's workflows, constraints, and goals before positioning a solution. We sell what we have - with deep product mastery and honest conversations about what's on the roadmap and what isn't. We maintain a balanced pipeline across focus segments, use Salesforce rigorously to track progress, and hand off every closed deal with a documented account plan so the relationship starts on solid footing from day one. We play the long game. Underpromise, overdeliver, and build the kind of relationships that compound over time. **Check out these videos and links to learn more about Talos and our culture!** - Spotlight Article: [Talos Snapshot by DRW](https://www.drw.com/vc/updates/drw-vc-portfolio-company-spotlight-anton-katz-talos/) - Podcast: [2023 episode with co-founders Anton & Ethan](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gDUxXkBMr8&t=62s/) - Website: [Explore Talos: Products, Investors, Team & More](https://www.talos.com/) - Case Studies: [Real world examples of client solutions](https://www.talos.com/insights?insight-category=Case+Studies) - Awards: [Talos Wins Hedgeweek Global Digital Assets Award 2024](https://www.talos.com/insights/talos-wins-best-trading-platform-at-hedgeweek-global-digital-assets-awards-2024/) - Culture: [Award-winning, Forbes-listed, low-attrition team](https://www.talos.com/insights/forbes-names-talos-one-of-americas-best-startup-employers-for-the-second-year-in-a-row/) Andreessen Horowitz re: Talos: "The company best suited to drive institutional adoption is one that understands traditional capital markets deeply and is forward-thinking enough to fully grasp the promise of crypto.
