Sales Development Representative

Job description

### About AngelList Private markets are the new public markets. The most important companies of this era are private, and almost no one can own them. What's missing is the financial system public markets spent a century building: exchanges, custodians, brokers, and ways for ordinary people to buy in. Private markets, now $28T, never had the equivalent. AngelList is building it. The last decade of structural innovation in venture happened here: syndicates, SPVs at scale, Rolling Funds, scout programs. Today we have $200B+ in assets and 30,000+ startups funded on our platform. The rest of private markets is next. Funds is the software and services behind private funds, Nova is the banking network, Meridian is the wealth platform for accredited investors, and USVC is the brand behind a registered fund that lets anyone invest in venture. Working here means an unusual amount of agency on a problem that matters. Titles are closer to suggestions, and there are about 200 of us building what private markets never had. Come build it with us. ### ### About the Role Our sales pipeline is moving up market. We're introducing AngelList to larger funds and more complex firms for the first time, where more people weigh in on each decision and every account takes deeper research. Our AEs close best when the calls on their calendar are with firms that are ready to buy. We're hiring a Sales Development Rep (SDR) to build a better pipeline for our Account Executives (AEs). You'll research each firm, find the people who make the decision, and start the conversation. When a firm is ready, you'll hand it to an AE. You'll track the funnel in Salesforce and use the numbers to decide which accounts get your time. The pipeline you build will show up directly in our closed revenue. You will build the playbook here alongside the Head of Sales (who you will report to), our AEs, and our other SDR. ### Responsibilities - Own inbound and outbound prospect qualification, ensuring every lead is worked with speed and rigor - Run early discovery calls and first conversations that uncover real business need and set AEs up to close - Design and iterate on the qualification framework: the questions, signals, and criteria that determine when a deal moves forward - Build and manage the SDR tech stack, including sequencing tools, scoring models, and AI-assisted workflows - Track pipeline quality metrics and partner with marketing to make lead quality a shared measure across the funnel - Shape how this function grows. The processes and systems you build will define how we scale. ### What we’re looking for - 1-2 of years of experience prospecting in an SDR, BDR, or adjacent sales role and owned a pipeline target. - You've sold into larger organizations where more than one person had to say yes - You've written cold outreach that people actually answered. - You've used funnel data to change where you spend your time. - You've built a process where there wasn't one, and used AI or automation to remove manual work. - You can align internal teams around an idea, in writing - **Bonus:** Familiarity with private markets, GPs, institutional LPs, or alternative assets
