Sales Development Representative I

Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is building the payment layer for life's essential bills, giving households one place to see, split, and pay their bills around how they live and get paid. By offering greater choice over how and when payments are made and allowing eligible on time payments to help build a positive credit history, Flex puts households back in control of their cash flow. That work brings together people with different perspectives who challenge the status quo and take ownership of solving difficult problems. For you, that means doing the best work of your career next to people who make you better, and together bringing ideas to life that make a real impact for the people we serve. # **About the role** Flex is on a mission to change the way bills get paid, starting with rent. We give renters more flexibility and control over one of their biggest monthly expenses, and we give the property management companies we partner with a modern, easy way to offer that flexibility to their residents. As we grow, we're looking for our next SDR to help bring more Property Management Companies into the Flex family. This is a foundational role on a high-performing sales team, and it's designed to be the start of a real career, not just a first job. You'll be on the front lines building the pipeline that fuels our growth — and you'll be developed deliberately from day one through the Flex Sales Onboarding & Enablement, not just thrown into the deep end. **Where you'll work:** This role is hybrid out of our Salt Lake City office (Lehi, UT), and you'll be in with the team 3 days a week. We're big believers that some of the best coaching, energy, and deals happen in person (and honestly, the team is pretty fun to be around). As a bonus, you'll get a Grubhub credit for lunch on the days you're in the office. **Where you'll travel:** Beyond SLC, you'll get out of the office for company offsites in Mexico and our Sales Kickoff in Florida as well as onboarding in NYC , both built for big wins, big energy, and time to connect with the team outside the day to day grind. # **What You’ll Do** - Win new client relationships, driving revenue and market share across the rental real estate space. - Manage a robust pipeline in our CRM, keeping it sharp and up to date. - Tailor creative prospecting approaches for different personas across each business you target. - Establish relationships with senior executives and decision-makers through smart, persistent outbound efforts. - Follow up quickly and efficiently on every inbound lead you receive. - Educate prospective customers on how Flex helps property management companies offer their residents real financial flexibility. - Collaborate with our Accounts team to shape strategic adoption plans for new customers. - Take initiative, jumping into ad-hoc projects across the sales org. # **You Could Be a Great Fit If** - You're a self-starter who's genuinely hungry for success. - You have excellent written and verbal communication skills — you know how to make someone want to keep talking to you. - You build relationships with middle management and ownership quickly and authentically. - You move fast, stay flexible, and don't need everything mapped out to get started. - You thrive both working independently and collaborating with a team. # **How We Set You Up** - A structured first 90 days — foundational training, tool ramp, and your first certifications, building toward your first real production. - Hands-on certifications, not just training modules — you'll prove you can actually do the work, evaluated against a clear, consistent standard every SDR is held to. - An assigned AE mentor and a manager who coaches you weekly, not just at review time. - Ongoing enablement long after ramp ends — monthly development themes, team-wide visibility into what's working, and campaigns focused on where the market is moving. - A real, defined path forward — promotion to SDR II is earned through clear, objective criteria, and from there, real tracks into Account Executive or Account Management roles. # **Why Flex** - **Strong onboarding, built to set you up for real success** — we invest in ramping you right, not just throwing you into the deep end - **Revenue enablement that never stops** — ongoing coaching and resources designed to sharpen your skills long after ramp is over - **Mentorship, built in** — you'll learn directly from peers and senior sales folks who want to see you win, not just hit your own number - **A real career path** — this is a role to grow *in*, not just grow *out of* - **A team that's winning** — you'll be surrounded by top performers who are closing deals and hitting numbers, with the energy and momentum that comes from being part of a team that's actually putting up results ### **Compensation** The compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks. This is a commission earning role. The OTE (On Target Earnings) listed below: OTE (NYC/Bay Area, Los Angeles, Seattle) $68,000—$85,000 USD OTE (Salt Lake City, all other USA cities) $64,000—$72,250 USD ### **Life at Flex** We understand that it takes a diverse team of highly intelligent, curious, determined, empathetic, and self aware people to grow a successful company. Our HQ is located in New York City, but we have employees located throughout the US, Australia, Canada and South America. We are growing quickly, but deliberately, with a focus on building an inclusive culture. Our dynamic team has incredible perspectives to share, just as we know you do, and we take great pride in being an equal opportunity workplace. **Offices** Roles posted in New York, San Francisco, and Salt Lake City are hybrid positions with on-site expectations of 2-3 days per week in our local offices. For candidates outside of these areas, you may be eligible for our relocation assistance program. **Benefits** View our benefits and more at [](https://getflex.com/company/careers).
