Sales Development Representative I

Job description

The Team: Our SDR team is a dynamic mix of hardworking individuals who balance dedication with genuine curiosity. They approach challenges with energy and creativity, always seeking innovative ways to connect with prospects. For us, the grind is about more than hard work; it’s about fostering a positive vibe that makes each day enjoyable. About the Role Every deal at Consensus starts with a conversation, and our SDRs start most of them. As an Outbound Sales Development Representative, you’ll be the first person many prospects talk to about Consensus. Your job is to find the right accounts, get the right people talking, and hand our Account Executives meetings worth having. This is not a “dial and pray” job. Our buyers are revenue leaders at B2B companies, and they’ve heard every pitch. You’ll research accounts, map out who’s in the buying committee, and reach them by phone, email, LinkedIn, and video. You’ll also use Consensus demos in your own outreach, so you’ll show prospects the product instead of just describing it. What You’ll Do: Research target accounts and find the stakeholders who own the problem we solve Own your account list: build your territory strategy, prioritize where to spend your time, and treat each account like your own book of business Use AI and agentic workflows to research accounts, personalize outreach, and automate busywork, so more of your time goes into real conversations Run multi-channel outbound cadences by phone, email, LinkedIn, and personalized video Lead cold call conversations that uncover real pain, not just interest Book qualified meetings and hand them off to AEs with the context they need to win Work closely with AEs, Marketing, and your SDR peers on account strategy Track your activity and conversion numbers, and use them to get better every week Who You Are: Outgoing. You can start a conversation with anyone and keep it going. Curious. You ask questions, then ask the follow-up. You want to understand how a buyer’s business works. Gritty. You’ve been told no before and kept going. Competitive sports, hospitality, call centers, recruiting, and military backgrounds all fit right in here. Self-aware. You know your strengths, own your misses, and take coaching well. Ambitious. You see this as the first step in a long sales career, not just a job. Business-minded. You’re interested in how companies sell, buy, and grow. What We’re Looking For: High School diploma required Preferred 1+ years of outbound sales development experience, with a history of exceeding KPIs Strong communication skills via phone and email Proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills Dedicated office or quiet place where work can be done Join Consensus and enjoy a robust benefits package designed with your well-being in mind: Health & Wellness: Benefit from a generous employer contribution towards health insurance, with a variety of plans that include dental and vision coverage. Take advantage of HSA/FSA programs to maximize your tax savings. Retirement Ready: Secure your future with our 401(k) plan featuring company-matching contributions. Family First: We offer paid parental leave, so you can prioritize what matters most—your family. Work-Life Balance: Enjoy unlimited PTO and 12 company holidays to recharge and refresh. Celebrate your birthday with a day off, and enjoy Flex Fridays, where every third Friday of the month is yours to unwind. Flexible Work Options: Work in a flexible, remote environment that suits your lifestyle, with a top-tier WFH setup provided when you join. Grow with Us: Participate in our professional development program to expand your skills and advance your career. Give Back: Make a difference in your community with two paid volunteer days each year at a charity of your choice. About Us: The way people buy software is changing. We’re creating what comes next. Consensus is the world’s most trusted demo platform for B2B sales and marketing teams, rated #1 in Demo Automation on G2. We’re rethinking the demo experience from the first interaction to the live conversation. Consensus connects every demo experience, from interactive product tours and videos to AI demo agents and live demos with real-time data, into one continuous buying experience. Every interaction creates demo intelligence that helps teams understand what buyers explored, what they cared about, and what they need next. The result? More context, less friction, faster sales cycles, higher conversions, and more capacity for sales and presales teams. At Consensus, we’re not just another SaaS company. We’re a dynamic team on a mission to change how buyers buy. Your unique perspective isn’t just welcomed; it’s essential. We want people who bring curiosity, challenge the status quo, and are excited to have a real hand in shaping what comes next. Our values aren’t just words on a wall. They show up in how we work, how we collaborate, and how we make decisions. We want you to show up ready to contribute and grow. Perfection isn’t the goal. It’s about putting your name on a version one, learning from it, and making it better. If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and help shape the future of B2B buying, we want you on our team.
