Sales Manager APAC

Job description

ABOUT US At TOPPAN Security, our mission is to shape a meaningful, technology-driven future by being a global leader in mission-critical identity and payment technologies. We serve as the international development arm of the TOPPAN Group in the security domain, founded in 1900. TOPPAN is a trusted Japanese brand renowned for its commitment to exceptional quality. Building on this legacy, we combine bold ideas, deep sector expertise, and collaborative intelligence to deliver secure, future-ready solutions. Our culture is grounded in four core values: Agility, Ownership, Resilience, and a Sense of Fun. We move fast, lead with accountability, grow through challenges, and bring positive energy into everything we do. About the role As our Sales Manager – Asia-Pacific, you will drive business development and revenue growth across APAC, with a particular focus on government customers, identity-related solutions, and complex tender-driven opportunities. This is an individual contributor role: you will not manage a team directly, but you will be expected to manage your territory, opportunities, partners and customer relationships with a high level of autonomy. You will report to the APAC sales leadership and work closely with pre-sales, bid and program management teams to identify qualified opportunities, shape solutions, prepare tender responses and support successful project delivery after contract award. What you will do • Develop and execute sales and business development strategies across assigned APAC countries. • Identify, qualify and pursue new opportunities with government entities, public-sector stakeholders, strategic partners and enterprise customers. • Build and maintain strong relationships with end customers, local partners, integrators and key decision-makers across the region. • Lead long, complex sales cycles from opportunity identification through qualification, tender preparation, negotiation and deal closure. • Work closely with pre-sales teams to translate customer requirements into relevant solutions and proposals. • Collaborate with the bid team on government tenders, RFP responses and commercial submissions. • Build, maintain and update a qualified sales pipeline, including monthly pipeline status reviews and opportunity updates. • Manage customer and account relationships after contract award, in coordination with program managers and delivery teams. • Represent TOPPAN Security in high-level engagements with partners, customers and government stakeholders. • Achieve revenue targets and contribute to TOPPAN Security’s regional growth strategy. ABOUT YOU You are a commercially driven sales professional with proven hands-on experience selling into the Asia-Pacific region. You understand how to build trust with government and public-sector stakeholders, navigate tender-driven environments and manage long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles. You combine strategic thinking with practical execution. You are comfortable travelling frequently, opening doors in new markets, working through partners and coordinating internally with technical and bid teams to move opportunities forward. What we are looking for • Around 10+ years of sales or business development experience, with proven experience selling into APAC markets. • Demonstrated experience selling to government customers, public-sector organizations or government-linked entities. • Experience with government tenders, RFPs, procurement processes and multi-stakeholder decision environments. • Experience in security printing, identity solutions, secure documents, card or passport issuance/personalization, government identity/payment solutions, or a closely adjacent industry. • Strong knowledge of Southeast Asian markets and, ideally, exposure to North Asia and wider APAC territories. • Ability to build and manage a strong partner and end-customer network across the region. • Proven ability to identify opportunities, qualify them, manage pipeline evolution and close complex deals. • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills. • High integrity, autonomy and ownership; honesty is essential for success in this role. What you will bring • Fluent English is required. • Mandarin or other regional languages are an advantage, but not mandatory. • Strong commercial judgment and strategic thinking. • Ability to develop long-term partnerships and identify new business opportunities across APAC. • Confidence representing the company with senior-level customers, partners and government stakeholders. • Capacity to work independently while coordinating effectively with pre-sales, bid and delivery teams. • A hands-on, resilient and adaptable approach to business development across different countries and cultures. Work requirements • The candidate must be based in APAC or have clear, proven APAC selling experience. • Preferred locations include major APAC business hubs such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia or the Philippines. • Willingness and availability to travel extensively across APAC, with an expected travel level of around 50% on average. TOPPAN is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, age, color, religion, national origin, veteran status, or disability.
