Job description
**This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SAP MM-QM Consultant based in India.** This is an opportunity for an experienced SAP functional professional to support critical procurement, inventory, and quality-management operations in a production environment. You will take ownership of high-priority P1/P2 incidents and drive timely resolution against defined SLAs and KPIs. The role combines hands-on expertise in SAP Materials Management and Quality Management with strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities. You will collaborate closely with business users, ABAP, BASIS, integration, and cross-functional teams to keep essential processes running smoothly. The position offers exposure to SAP S/4HANA, Fiori, enterprise integrations, and structured ITIL-aligned support practices. It is well suited to a consultant who thrives in high-impact environments and enjoys solving complex business-critical issues. ### Accountabilities - Manage P1 and P2 production-support tickets across SAP MM and QM, ensuring incidents are assessed, prioritized, escalated, and resolved within agreed SLA and KPI targets. - Perform detailed issue analysis and root-cause investigations for recurring production problems, recommending and implementing preventive actions. - Provide functional support for procurement and inventory processes, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipts/issues, invoice verification, vendor and material master data, stock transfers, subcontracting, and consignment. - Support SAP QM processes covering inspection lots, results recording, usage decisions, and quality notifications. - Troubleshoot issues involving pricing, account determination, release strategies, and other MM/QM functional configurations. - Coordinate resolution activities with ABAP, BASIS, integration, FI, SD, PP, and business teams, ensuring effective cross-module collaboration. - Support ticket triage, business impact assessment, escalation management, functional testing, and production validation. - Maintain accurate incident documentation and contribute to change and release-management activities using tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy. - Support SAP environments involving interfaces, batch management, valuation processes, and, where applicable, S/4HANA and Fiori applications. ## Requirements - 6–8 years of professional experience in SAP MM and QM functional consulting or production support. - Strong hands-on experience managing P1/P2 incidents and resolving high-priority production issues within SLA-driven environments. - Solid knowledge of SAP MM, including procurement, inventory management, invoice verification, material master, and vendor master processes. - Strong functional knowledge of SAP QM, particularly inspection lots, results recording, usage decisions, and quality notifications. - Good understanding of integration between MM, QM, FI, SD, and PP modules. - Proven ability to perform troubleshooting, functional analysis, root-cause analysis, and functional testing. - Experience working with enterprise ticketing and incident-management platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy. - Experience with SAP S/4HANA and exposure to Fiori applications related to MM/QM are preferred. - Knowledge of interfaces, batch management, valuation processes, change management, and release processes is an advantage. - Familiarity with ITIL-based support frameworks and structured production-support practices is desirable. - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline. - Strong communication, stakeholder-management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain effective during high-severity incidents. ## Benefits - Competitive, above-average compensation. - Remote and home-office flexibility. - Flexible working-time models. - Opportunity to work internationally from abroad periodically, subject to applicable arrangements. - Attractive benefits, including health-related offerings and retirement/pension benefits. - Modern, collaborative work environment with flat organizational structures. - Open feedback culture and supportive, motivated teams. - Individual career-development planning. - Continuous training, coaching, and opportunities to expand SAP expertise. - Exposure to innovative SAP S/4HANA Cloud and enterprise technology projects.
