Job description
Our client is seeking a senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) focused on Cards to design, implement, and maintain test automation that ensures robust, scalable delivery of card-related systems. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to embed automated functional, integration, and performance testing into the development lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines. The role emphasizes hands-on coding in C# /.NET, building test frameworks for UI and APIs, supporting REST API migrations from legacy SOAP/WCF services, and validating system resilience through load and performance testing. ## Responsibilities - Create test case scenarios for improving test coverage using C# and .NET. - Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and performance/load testing. - Develop and execute automated test suites to validate functional and non-functional requirements. - Develop comprehensive test strategies for REST API migrations from legacy SOAP/WCF services. - Perform end-to-end testing of API workflows, including authentication and authorization flows. - Validate OpenAPI/Swagger specifications against actual API implementations. - Test adapter layer functionality between REST APIs and legacy SOAP/WCF services, ensuring backward compatibility during migration phases. - Validate file-based interface translations and data integrity across systems. - Perform regression testing on existing SCM and card-related functionalities throughout migration phases. - Conduct integration testing with internal and external systems, including Presidio IVR systems. - Validate OAuth 2.0 and MFA implementations across services. - Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools. - Design and run load and performance tests to validate system resilience and scalability using tools such as JMeter or Gatling or LoadRunner. - Create and maintain tools for test data generation, mocking, dependency control, and system observability. - Collaborate with software development teams to promote testability, shift-left practices, TDD, and clean code architecture. - Participate in code reviews for application and test code, providing actionable feedback on coverage and quality. - Mentor engineers and QA team members in automation practices and support a culture of test-driven development. - Instrument tests and systems for observability and monitoring to support debugging and performance analysis. - Maintain and evolve automation to work reliably in containerized and cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure/AWS/GCP). ## Requirements - 4+ years of experience in software test automation, SDET, or development roles. - Strong programming skills in C# /.NET or a similar object-oriented language. - Create and implement test case scenarios using C# and .NET to improve test coverage across application and integration flows. - Hands-on experience building automation frameworks for UI testing using Cypress, Selenium or Playwright. - Hands-on experience building API automation using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI, or similar. - Strong understanding of REST, SOAP, and WCF protocols and experience testing integrations between modern and legacy services. - Experience testing OAuth 2.0 authentication flows and familiarity with MFA implementations. - Knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and experience with API documentation, contract validation, and validating specifications against actual API implementations. - Experience with unit testing frameworks such as NUnit, MSTest, or xUnit. - Hands-on experience building load and performance tests using JMeter or Gatling or LoadRunner. - Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar.. - Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments. - Familiarity with containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP. - Experience participating in code reviews and providing feedback on test coverage and quality. ## Nice to Have - Background in cards, payments, fintech, health tech, or other regulated industries. - Strong debugging skills in distributed system environments. - Experience testing adapter layers, file-based interfaces, and backward compatibility across legacy and modern systems. - Experience with IVR integrations, particularly Presidio IVR systems. - Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Application Insights, Datadog, or Splunk. - Experience mentoring developers and QA engineers in automation practices ## Engagement & Logistics - Engagement Length:12 months or more. - Time Zone: CST (9:00 to 5:00PM) - Overtime Required: There may be some need for some over time hours depending on the amount of work, but it would be 1-2 hours for a couple of days at a time. The rate for those hours will be the same. - Equipment: BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) ## Selection process 1. Meeting with Resilient Co. team. 2. Technical interview 3. Cultural FIT/ Prep call with CSM 4. Project interview 5. Client interview (Hiring Manager call)
