A powerful media juggernaut paired with a curated marketplace, Complex is redefining the way fans interact with their favorite brands and artists and reshaping the future of digital culture and commerce. ### What You'll Do - Provide legal guidance and expertise to company executives and department heads regarding laws, regulations, industry customs and practices related to short form digital programming, e-commerce, retail and tech - Assist key team members with structuring and negotiating deals for above and below-the-line talent, sponsorships, brands, licenses, production companies and vendors - Structure, draft, negotiate and manage complex and often first-of-their-kind commercial contracts relating to merchandise, digital content, promotional partnerships and more - Advise on employment law matters - Prepare deal summaries for use by marketing, content, finance, etc. - Analyze and advise on the ramifications and relative risk of deal structures - Partner with business executives and human resources to design and implement best practices ### Who You Are - Member in good standing of California State Bar - Minimum of 5+ years of legal/business affairs experience in a media company, production company or law firm - Excellent drafting, negotiation and organizational skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Extensive in-depth knowledge of contract and general corporate law - Knowledge of intellectual property, clearance and copyright, entertainment, technology and privacy law - Knowledge of industry deals and practices - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and Excel - Confident, self-motivated, can work well independently and collaboratively - Good business judgement Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-intensive, in-house environment and manage a high volume of transactions - Previous startup experience a plus ### What We Offer - Best in class health, dental, and vision insurance - Healthcare FSA - Dependent Care FSA - Commuter Benefits FSA - Short-term/long-term disability and life insurance - Paid Parental leave - 401k with 4% match - Pet Insurance - Legal and Identity Theft Plans - Flexible PTO
