Senior Backend Software Engineer - Consumer Wealth

Job description

**About us** Traditional banking has never really given you control over your financial life. Satispay exists to change that: to **empower people through finance**. That means making financial services easy and accessible for over 6.5M users. We started with payments, then benefits, investing, cards... and we’re not done. Not even close. We follow the same logic every time: find a real problem, solve it properly, then look for the next one. The destination? To build the most loved financial platform in the world. If you own outcomes rather than tasks, stay close to what users need, and refuse to wait for someone else to fix what's broken — you'll find people here who work exactly in the same way. And together, you'll build something worth being proud of. **What you'll be doing** As our Senior Backend Software Engineer in the Consumer Wealth team, you'll play a key role in shaping how our users grow and manage their savings and investments. You'll be a technical expert for the Consumer domain, driving initiatives that empower millions to build financial well-being through our savings products, invested money box, and investment solutions. Here's what that looks like in practice: - **Drive Technical Excellence -** Design and build scalable, high-quality systems that solve complex financial engineering problems within our savings and wealth management back-end. - **Contribute to Architecture -** Participate in architecting subsystems that power savings and investment features, ensuring cross-product consistency. - **Collaborate and Align -** Build relationships across teams to drive technical alignment and ensure smooth delivery of impactful features. - **Mentor and Develop -** Guide and mentor fellow engineers, championing a culture of high-quality engineering and continuous improvement. - **Generate Impact -** Play a vital role in helping users grow their wealth by owning your work from start to finish using our tech stack (PostgreSQL, Java, Spring Boot, AWS, microservices, etc.). **Who we're looking for** This role needs someone who excels in problem-solving and cross-team collaboration with deep technical expertise. - **Extensive Experience -** At least 5 years of related experience in back-end software engineering within product-based companies, with a proven track record of building and maintaining microservices and cloud environments. - **Domain Expertise -** Deep experience working with Java (or other OOP languages) and a strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS is a plus). Experience with financial systems or transactional consistency is a big plus. - **Effective Communication -** Able to communicate in a structured and convincing manner, building trust positively and professionally with various stakeholders. - **Technical Mentorship -** A proven ability to share knowledge, review code critically, and help elevate the technical standards of the team. - **Passion and Language Skills -** Passionate about empowering users to grow their savings through technology, comfortable in fast-paced FinTech environments, and fluent in English. Don't worry if you don't tick every box. We believe in the power of different viewpoints and strengths. Your unique perspective is important as we build something special: if you're passionate and can make a difference, we truly encourage you to apply. **CareAbout: how we support your impact** We move fast, and evolution never stops. It’s a fun ride, but it can be challenging. To make sure our people truly thrive, we’re committed to making their lives easier, both in the office and out in the world. That’s why we created CareAbout: - ❤️ **Health:** private insurance for you and your family, psychological support with Serenis, mental health workshops. - 💰 **Financial resources:** Stock Option Plan, meal vouchers, relocation support if you’re moving countries. - ⚙️ **Growth and development:** professional development programs, internal mobility, language courses with Preply. - 🌱 **Flexibility:** unlimited PTO, hybrid working policy\*, flexible working hours. - 👨‍👩‍👧 **Family:** enhanced parental leave, additional leave for child sickness. \**We embrace 2 days per week in-office (Tuesday and Thursday), with the option to request extra remote time*. **Salary:** €51.000 - €66.500 gross per annum.
