Senior Business Development Manager, Banking & Investing

Job description

### **WHO ARE WE?** [Launch Potato](https://launchpotato.com/careers?utm_source=greenhouse&utm_medium=jobpost&utm_campaign=careers-back-to-careers) is the discovery and conversion company. We reach tens of millions of people every month through our brands, including [FinanceBuzz](https://financebuzz.com/?utm_source=greenhouse&utm_medium=jobpost&utm_campaign=careers-to-brand), [All About Cookies](https://allaboutcookies.org/?utm_source=greenhouse&utm_medium=jobpost&utm_campaign=careers-to-brand), and [OnlyInYourState](https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/?utm_source=greenhouse&utm_medium=jobpost&utm_campaign=careers-to-brand). We turn that attention into real outcomes for our partners, some of the world's leading companies. Our mission: create predictable, high-value customer acquisition at scale by connecting discovery, intent, and performance across category-leading consumer brands in finance, travel, and entertainment. We run profitable and bootstrapped, with a South Florida HQ and a remote-first team across 18 countries. ### **WHY JOIN US?** You own outcomes here, not tasks. We measure work by impact, not activity. The pace is real, and change is constant, so the people who do best turn change into opportunity instead of waiting for it to settle. Feedback runs direct and lands with respect. Ordinary people make themselves extraordinary at Launch Potato. **THE ROLE** We're looking for a hands-on Partnerships & BD expert to grow our banking, deposits, and investing partners, and to bring on the ones we haven't met yet. Most of the job, roughly 70 to 80 percent, is growing the partners we already have: bigger budgets, better economics, broader distribution. The rest is net new, mostly warm, with real outreach on the investing side where the relationships don't exist yet. You'll work alongside our Head of Partnerships, who will continue to focus on our largest strategic partners. On those strategic partners, you'll run the operations. Across the rest of banking, deposits, and investing, you own it fully, operationally and strategically. That's what gives the Head of Partnerships room for the biggest bets, and it's what makes this seat yours. This isn't a support role, and it isn't customer service. The job is to grow relationships, not just service them. **WHY THIS SEAT** - **A category to own.** Banking, deposits, and investing partners outside our largest strategic accounts are yours, start to finish. - **A partner, not a handoff.** Our Head of Partnerships works closely alongside you for your first 90 days, and the goal is full independence by about day 120. - **Room to shape it.** You'll inherit real momentum, but the strategy in these categories is still being written, and you'll help write it. - **Close to the media.** You'll connect what partners need to placements across FinanceBuzz and our publisher network, which is where a good partnership becomes an extraordinary one. - **Direct exposure to senior leadership** on the deals that matter. **WHAT YOU'LL BRING** - **Direct experience on the advertiser side of a financial comparison publisher, marketplace, or performance network,** managing bank, deposit, or investing partners. - **A record of growing accounts, not just servicing them.** You can walk through a partner whose budget you grew and what moved it. - **Sales DNA.** You open doors and close. Warm relationships are most of it, but you're comfortable with cold outreach, especially to investing apps. - **Ownership of the details.** URL approvals, budget changes, CPA moves, placement and widget coordination: you run them yourself and nothing drops. - **You figure it out without being pushed,** and you pull in account management, product, media, analytics, compliance, legal, and finance to get it done. - **Fluency in performance economics,** including CPA, CPL, CPC, and revenue share, and the business acumen to use performance, revenue, and unit-economic data in a negotiation. - **Strong communication, relationship building, and negotiation** across several partners and opportunities at once. **NICE TO HAVE** - Publisher experience, or enough of the language to hold the conversation. - Experience in wealth management, financial advisory, RIAs, or advisor networks. - Existing relationships with banks, fintech companies, investment platforms, or related financial-services companies. - Experience selling customer acquisition, media, lead generation, or performance-based marketing. **WHAT YOU'LL OWN** **Existing partners** - Budget growth, better unit economics, broader product coverage, and a bigger share of wallet with the partners you own. - The operations on our largest strategic banking partners, alongside the Head of Partnerships. - Partner operations from onboarding through campaign management, reporting, issue resolution, and optimization. - Proposals that connect a partner's goals to placements, audiences, and distribution across FinanceBuzz and our publisher network. - Accurate pipeline, forecasts, partner updates, and next steps. - Launch Potato's presence at industry events and partner meetings. **New partners** - A pipeline across banking, deposits, investing, and wealth. - Reaching the right decision makers through relationships, referrals, events, and outbound. - Partner conversations from first outreach through pitch, deal negotiation, contracting, and launch. - A clear read on each partner's growth goals, economics, products, and target customers. **WHAT GREAT LOOKS LIKE** - **First 90 days:** you're learning the book side by side with the Head of Partnerships and running operations on the partners you'll own. - **By about day 120:** you run your partners independently. - **By month 6:** you're directing internal traffic and connecting partner activity to media opportunity. - **Year one:** larger budgets and stronger economics across existing partners, new banks and investing advertisers live, and the Head of Partnerships focused on our largest, most strategic deals. **THIS ISN'T THE RIGHT SEAT IF YOU** - Want to hunt, close, and hand the account to someone else. - Want someone else to own the operations. - Need a playbook handed to you before you move. - Would rather service an account than grow it. **TOTAL COMPENSATION** - **Base:** $150,000 to $170,000, set by level and expertise based on initial interviews. - **Annual Bonus**: company EBITDA plus personal performance. No commission. **Want to accelerate your career? Apply now!** Since day one, we've been committed to having a diverse, inclusive team and culture.
