### Role Summary and Impact
This role is within The Goat Agency, a leading brand within WPP Media, where you will help global brands harness the power of social and creator-led content to deliver measurable impact. Recognised as a global leader in the space, we deliver award-winning campaigns in more than 70 countries. With over 650 social natives worldwide, we create ambitious influencer programmes—from tactical activations to long-term partnerships—designed to drive awareness, engagement and conversions across the full marketing funnel.
Working within the Intelligence and Insights team, you will support the development of clear, relevant and actionable insights that inform campaign planning and strategy. You will explore consumer behaviour, social conversations, creator activity, competitor performance and cultural trends, turning your findings into compelling stories and practical recommendations. This is an early-career opportunity suited to someone with one to two years of marketing, research, social media or insights experience who is curious about audiences, brands and culture.
### Skills and Experience
- Insight Generation & Analysis:
- Conduct research into consumer behaviour, social media conversations, creator activity, competitor campaigns and emerging cultural trends.
- Review campaign results and relevant performance indicators to identify key themes, patterns and opportunities.
- Bring together information from multiple sources and translate findings into clear, engaging insight stories.
- Support the development of practical recommendations for campaign planning, creator strategy and content development.
- Use social listening, audience intelligence and research platforms to gather relevant information, with guidance from senior team members.
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail across all research and reporting.
### Project & Stakeholder Management:
- Support defined intelligence and insights projects, from initial research and information gathering through to final delivery.
- Manage assigned tasks and deadlines, raising questions or potential issues with senior team members when required.
- Collaborate effectively with strategy, planning, campaign and client teams to understand their intelligence needs.
- Communicate findings clearly and confidently to internal stakeholders, with support where appropriate.
- Respond positively to feedback and use it to strengthen future research and insight development.
### Learning & Best Practice:
- Build knowledge of influencer marketing, social platforms, creator culture and the wider media landscape.
- Develop confidence in research, insight generation and storytelling techniques through hands-on experience and team support.
- Stay informed about emerging platforms, consumer behaviours, cultural shifts and industry developments.
- Contribute ideas, examples and useful resources that support the team’s shared knowledge.
- Follow established research standards and best practices, including accurate sourcing and clear documentation.
## Key Responsibilities:
### Intelligence & Research Operations:
- Conduct desk research using reliable sources to support campaign briefs, pitches, reports and strategic projects.
- Monitor social conversations, creator activity, competitor behaviour and category developments to identify relevant insights.
- Help produce regular intelligence outputs, including trend reports, competitor reviews, audience summaries and campaign learnings.
- Gather and organise information from internal and external sources, ensuring findings are clearly documented and easy to understand.
- Support the maintenance of campaign tracking documents, research libraries and shared intelligence resources.
- Ensure campaigns and relevant information are added promptly to internal platforms, following up with stakeholders when details are missing.
### Insight Development & Quality:
- Identify meaningful themes and patterns within research, social conversations and campaign information.
- Help turn observations into insights by explaining what is happening, why it matters and how brands could respond.
- Sense-check findings to ensure conclusions are supported by appropriate evidence.
- Check sources, calculations, formatting and written outputs carefully before sharing work.
- Ask thoughtful questions and seek guidance when information is incomplete, unclear or inconsistent.
### Platform & Application Knowledge:
- Develop working knowledge of our core intelligence, campaign and reporting applications, including Benchmark Index, Performance Analyser and Deliverables Calculator.
- Use social listening, audience intelligence and research tools to gather information and identify relevant trends.
- Confidently use Excel or Google Sheets for organising information, completing basic analysis and producing clear summaries.
- Navigate our BI and internal reporting tools to access existing information and dashboards, with training and support provided.
- Share feedback on internal tools and processes to help improve usability and team efficiency.
### Collaboration & Development:
- Work closely with colleagues across Intelligence and Insights, Strategy, Campaigns and other relevant teams.
- Communicate clearly and proactively to help ensure actions are completed and projects remain on track.
- Participate in team discussions and contribute a curious, audience-focused perspective.
- Build effective working relationships by being dependable, collaborative and open to feedback.
- Take ownership of personal development and actively build knowledge of the influencer marketing and social media landscape.
## The Ideal Candidate:
- One to two years of experience in marketing, consumer research, social media, influencer marketing, media, strategy or insights, preferably within an agency or brand environment.
- A strong interest in consumer behaviour, social media, creators, culture and emerging trends.
- Curiosity and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to look beyond surface-level observations and consider why something matters.
- Some experience conducting desk research, competitor analysis, social listening or campaign reporting.
- An ability to turn research and information into clear, concise and engaging stories.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to build confidence in presenting findings.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets; experience with social listening, research or audience intelligence tools would be beneficial but is not essential.
