Senior Director of Strategy & Operations

Job description

### **About Us** Health is the most important thing in life, and the American healthcare system is completely broken - poor outcomes, high cost, bad patient experience. We're building a new system from the ground up. **Our mission is to improve people’s health by making it easy to live a healthy lifestyle.** Nourish is the country's largest dietitian-led metabolic health clinic. We’re an AI-native digital health system matching patients with 10,000+ Registered Dietitians, physicians, medications, lab testing, and AI agents to deliver insurance-covered care across all 50 states. Founded four years ago, we've completed millions of appointments, tripled year-over-year, and partnered with health plans covering 200M+ Americans across 250+ health systems. In 2026 we raised a [$100M Series C](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20260512183360/en/Nourish-Raises-%24100M-Series-C-to-Reverse-Chronic-Disease-with-AI-Native-Metabolic-Clinic), bringing total funding to $215M. The round was led by [Menlo Ventures](https://cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&url=https%3A%2F%2Fmenlovc.com%2F&esheet=54534855&newsitemid=20260512183360&lan=en-US&anchor=Menlo+Ventures&index=2&md5=a7f691ce61b1b69ee68a13a576315d2e), with participation from [Thrive Capital](https://cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&url=https%3A%2F%2Fthrivecap.com%2F&esheet=54534855&newsitemid=20260512183360&lan=en-US&anchor=Thrive+Capital&index=3&md5=db2cd91478da9785a5cc9b584dea6320), [Index Ventures](https://cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.indexventures.com%2F&esheet=54534855&newsitemid=20260512183360&lan=en-US&anchor=Index+Ventures&index=4&md5=f6be905422c6f378ec1b4bdc03024bbf), [J.P. We're looking for people who actively choose hard, ambiguous problems, who run toward unglamorous work, give and receive candid feedback, and bring relentless resilience without the ego. Our work is important, but we are not self-important. We do this because we’re solving one of the hardest problems in the world, and the problem matters. If that's you, we disproportionately reward it. ### **About the Role** Nourish is hiring a Senior Director of Strategy & Operations to shape the next stage of growth for a critical area of the business. You’ll partner closely with senior leadership to set the long-term vision and build the strategy to deliver it. This is a highly analytical operating role with direct accountability for business performance and a meaningful impact on Nourish’s bottom line. You’ll lead high-priority initiatives from strategy through execution, helping scale access to high-quality nutrition and metabolic care nationwide. You’ll lead and develop a team, including people managers, and define the capabilities needed to deliver your roadmap. You’ll think several years ahead while staying close to the operational details that determine whether a strategy succeeds. Some priorities will require building from the ground up; others will call for improving established systems. If you thrive in a high-ownership environment and want to build both the business and the team behind it, we’d love to meet you. This role is full-time and open to NYC-based candidates only (expectation to work in person 3+ days per week, with some remote flexibility). Our office is located in Gramercy. ### **Key Responsibilities:** - **Set the vision and own performance.** Define the long-term roadmap for your function with senior leadership. Translate that direction into ambitious growth and efficiency goals, alongside the operating outcomes that matter to your business unit. Establish KPIs and use regular performance reviews to identify where the strategy or execution needs to change. - **Own critical initiatives end to end.** Lead a portfolio of high-impact initiatives from the initial business case through implementation. Stay accountable for results beyond launch and keep the organization focused on the work that matters most. - **Build the strategy and investment roadmap.** Use rigorous analysis to understand the gap between current performance and future ambitions. Make clear recommendations about where to invest resources and how those choices will improve results. Weigh the expected financial return against the operational capabilities needed to scale. - **Lead and develop an exceptional team.** Manage a team that includes people managers, helping them grow into greater responsibility. Build the organizational structure your strategy requires and recruit the talent needed to deliver it. - **Drive cross-functional execution.** Give leaders and teams clarity on priorities and who owns each outcome. Work through dependencies and difficult decisions before they become obstacles to delivery. - **Build an operating model that scales.** Strengthen the systems and ways of working that make strong performance repeatable. Use evidence from new approaches and feedback from frontline teams to decide what to scale. ### **We’d love to hear from you if:** - **You have 8+ years of experience**, with a mix of **strategy work** (e.g., management consulting, finance, business operations) and **direct start-up experience** - **You have a strong track record of leading sizable teams and developing managers.** You’ve built effective organizations, made thoughtful hiring and performance decisions, and delivered results through others. - **You’ve owned meaningful business outcomes.** You can point to results you were accountable for, explain the choices that drove them, and discuss what you changed when performance fell short. - **You think from first principles and turn complexity into clear choices.** You can take an ambiguous problem, identify what matters, and build a practical strategy around it. - **You bring strong analytical and commercial judgment.** You understand how growth, cost, and investment decisions connect, and can make sound tradeoffs with imperfect information. - **You combine strategic range with operating depth.** You can set a multiyear direction while knowing when to get into the details, challenge an assumption, or help your team work through a difficult problem. - **You lead effectively across functions.** You build trust, engage with different perspectives, and create the clarity and commitment required to move a complex organization forward. - **You’re motivated by improving healthcare access and outcomes.** You want to apply your operating and leadership skills to help more people access high-quality care. ### **More Information** [The Nourish Bar](https://app.notion.com/p/A-Guide-to-The-Nourish-Bar-36ecc837c1d0810f9f24e75b240c666c?pvs=21) [Our Values](https://app.notion.com/p/Values-84cef6ac8c384f4d8f595a8c0061c62c?pvs=21) [Why Nourish Exists](https://app.notion.com/p/Why-Nourish-Exists-84442a27abc34e2b95b2ad3d3dfb1214?pvs=21) [How We Work](https://www.notion.so/a461b591089f412dbc2c55ab7167f74e) [Comp Philosophy](https://www.notion.so/38e34a54930f45cf93f41fd7f7e28a83) [Benefits](https://app.notion.com/p/36dcc837c1d0810198e4e69580095e2a?pvs=21) ***Please note that you must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for this position.***
