Job description
**This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director, Paid Social based in United States.** This senior leadership role provides executive oversight across a team of paid social leaders while helping shape the strategic evolution of a modern, integrated paid media practice. You will be responsible for driving growth across your leadership group, client portfolio, and broader business, with a strong focus on retention, profitability, innovation, and new business. The role combines executive client leadership with team development, measurement modernization, AI-enabled workflows, and strategic platform partnerships. You will help connect paid social with paid search, creative, analytics, programmatic, SEO, and other marketing disciplines to create a more unified growth engine. Success requires strong ownership, autonomous decision-making, executive presence, and the ability to turn complex marketing challenges into scalable solutions. You will also play a visible role in developing talent, strengthening client relationships, supporting business development, and advancing industry thought leadership. This is an opportunity to influence both the direction of a high-growth paid social discipline and the future of integrated performance marketing. ### Accountabilities: - Lead and develop a team of 2–5 Director and Associate Director-level leaders, with accountability for client retention and growth, resource management, profitability, P&L performance, and contribution to broader business objectives. - Provide executive oversight across key client accounts, guiding business strategy, client relationships, innovation initiatives, and growth opportunities across the portfolio. - Champion full-funnel measurement modernization, including incrementality testing, media mix modeling (MMM), server-side and CAPI integrations, and adoption of platform partner capabilities. - Drive the adoption of AI-assisted workflows, automation, and scalable tools that improve campaign efficiency, quality, reporting, onboarding, and operational performance. - Conduct performance reviews, regular leadership check-ins, and individualized development planning while coaching direct reports on communication, expectation setting, relationship building, active listening, and conflict resolution. - Maintain the ability to coach senior account teams and leaders on paid social fundamentals, including media planning, campaign development and optimization, reporting, platform capabilities, data processing, and analysis. - Continuously improve training programs and onboarding materials to create scalable, modern, and AI-enabled development processes. - Maintain broad knowledge of paid search, SEO, content marketing, email, programmatic, and other digital channels to support an integrated paid media strategy. - Partner with sales teams on strategic audits, proposals, presentations, pitches, and account growth initiatives. - Improve business processes and workflows to strengthen collaboration and efficiency across account teams, clients, and internal business functions. - Report to senior leadership on key business and client service priorities, including growth, retention, new business, partnerships, account opportunities, and potential risks. - Identify and proactively resolve critical client or account issues, escalating complex matters to the appropriate executive stakeholders when necessary. - Strengthen relationships with major social platform partners, expanding adoption, influencing joint business partnerships, and leveraging emerging product opportunities to drive innovation and client growth. - Represent the paid social discipline in internal and external forums, contributing to public speaking opportunities and industry thought leadership. ### Requirements: - 9+ years of paid media advertising experience, including media planning and buying within paid social environments and high-growth agency settings. - 3–4+ years of people management experience, with a demonstrated track record of mentoring, coaching, and developing leaders. - Strong leadership presence, positive mindset, strategic judgment, and ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams. - Experience spanning both performance marketing and brand marketing or planning, with strong expertise in full-funnel growth strategies. - Demonstrated experience contributing to new business pitches, strategic audits, account growth planning, and client expansion initiatives. - Strong knowledge of measurement approaches such as incrementality testing, MMM, and server-side/CAPI integrations, either through direct execution or leadership of teams responsible for operationalizing them. - Experience using analytical platforms such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics, with advanced SQL or comparable analytics skills considered a plus. - Strong understanding of social platform partnerships, the broader ad tech ecosystem, and emerging advertising technologies. - Expert proficiency with Google Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, and Asana. - Proven ability to develop and articulate full-funnel growth marketing strategies across diverse clients and industries, with ecommerce, retail, and lead-generation experience preferred. - Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and executive communication skills, with the ability to quickly assess situations and respond effectively. - Experience with tools such as Smartly, Sprinklr, or other AI-enabled advertising, automation, reporting, quality assurance, or ad operations platforms is a plus. - Demonstrated experience designing or implementing AI-assisted workflows, automation, or technology solutions that have materially improved efficiency or quality is preferred. ### Benefits: - Remote-first work environment with flexibility to work remotely from most US states, subject to certain exclusions. - Annual base salary of $142,000–$160,000 USD, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. - Annual performance bonus opportunity based on company, department, and individual performance. - 401(k) matching. - 100% paid parental leave. - Medical, dental, vision, life, pet insurance, and additional voluntary insurance options. - Short-term disability insurance and sponsored life insurance. - Unlimited paid time off and an extended winter holiday break. - Flexible work schedules and work-from-anywhere options, subject to applicable restrictions. - Annual ClassPass credits and additional employee wellness benefits. - Access to office hubs in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York for collaboration, events, learning, development, and optional in-person work. - Opportunity to influence the evolution of an integrated paid media practice and work with diverse, high-growth client portfolios. - Inclusive and collaborative environment focused on professional development, work-life balance, innovation, and meaningful career growth. - This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
