Job description
Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA. We are looking for an experienced **Senior Engineering Technician** to build, integrate, troubleshoot, and maintain complex robotic systems and engineering test assets. This is a hands-on role for someone who can work independently, own hardware within their area, and partner with engineers to drive problems to resolution. **Responsibilities** - Build, integrate, bring up, and maintain complex robotic systems, subsystems, and test equipment. - **Independently troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and system-level failures** using test equipment, logs, data, and engineering documentation. - Own assigned hardware and test assets, including **configuration, upgrades, maintenance, uptime, and readiness**. - Execute system and subsystem testing and clearly identify, document, and escalate failures. - Work with engineering to reproduce failures, validate fixes, and drive issues to closure. - Improve procedures, tooling, fixtures, and workflows to increase **reliability, quality, safety, and efficiency**. - Maintain clear documentation of hardware configuration, test results, repairs, and known issues. - Train and support other technicians on hardware, procedures, and troubleshooting. **Required Qualifications** - **5+ years of hands-on experience** building, testing, troubleshooting, or repairing complex electromechanical systems. - Strong electrical, mechanical, and system-level troubleshooting skills. - Experience with complex assembly, system bring-up, rework, and component replacement. - Proficiency with diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, and DAQ systems. - Working knowledge of Linux environments, shell commands, and Python for system bring-up, troubleshooting, test execution, and data collection. - Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, CAD, BOMs, and technical documentation. **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience with robotics, automation, or complex electromechanical systems. - Experience with system integration, reliability testing, or failure analysis. - Familiarity with CATIA or similar CAD tools. - Python, Java, and/or C++ experience. - Knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, or J-STD-001. The US hourly range for this full-time position is between $45/hr to $70/hr. The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
