Senior Financial Analyst, Supply Chain Finance - Manufacturing

Job description

### BUILT ON FLAVOR. FUELED BY PEOPLE. What’s it like to work at Kinder’s? Well, there’s a lot of snacking and geeking out over what we all cooked over the weekend. Beyond that, there’s also plenty of hard work. Because we don’t just like flavor, we’re obsessed with it. With over 100 products sold nationwide, we’re now a top-five brand in multiple flavor categories at Costco, Walmart, Whole Foods, and more. We’re not your typical CPG company. Privately held and founder-led, we like to think of ourselves as a pirate ship in a sea of cruise ships. Our crew is adventurous and fearless. We chart our own course and chase big ideas to make food unforgettable. As we expand globally and approach $1 billion in revenue, we need more smart-and-scrappy, flavor-obsessed people to come aboard. If you’re looking for a place where you can see the real impact of your work... **this is it!** Every day, you’ll be part of a journey to add flavor to millions of meals and lives. ## About This Role: At Kinder's, we're passionate about flavor, quality, and creating exceptional food experiences. As our company continues to grow, so does the scale and complexity of our supply chain across co-manufacturing, logistics, and an expanding SKU portfolio. The Senior Financial Analyst, Supply Chain Finance - Manufacturing will provide analytical and financial support to the Co-Manufacturing organization. This role will develop the reporting, models, and insights needed to understand product cost drivers and improve manufacturing performance across Kinder's external production network. Working closely with Co-Manufacturing, Supply Chain Finance, Operations, and Accounting, this analyst will evaluate conversion costs, yield, scrap, labor, overhead, capacity, and productivity. The role will investigate variances, maintain accurate forecasts, and turn detailed operating data into clear business implications and recommended actions. This position is well suited for a highly analytical self-starter who enjoys working with large and imperfect data sets, solving ambiguous problems, and building repeatable tools in a growing organization. ## Key Responsibilities Include: **Manufacturing Reporting & Analysis** - Prepare monthly and weekly reporting for co-manufacturing costs and operational performance, including cost per unit, conversion cost, yield, scrap, labor, overhead, capacity utilization, and plant efficiency. - Analyze actual results versus budget, forecast, standard, and prior periods; identify root causes, quantify financial impacts, and communicate conclusions clearly. - Build and maintain dashboards and reporting that connect manufacturing KPIs to COGS, gross margin, EBITDA, inventory, and cash flow. - Reconcile operational, supplier, ERP, and financial data and resolve data quality issues with business partners. - Support period-end close through accrual analysis, co-manufacturing cost validation, true-ups, and review of unusual transactions. - Develop ad hoc analyses in response to business questions and deliver accurate, decision-focused outputs under tight timelines. **Planning, Costing & Decision Support** - Support the annual budget, rolling forecast, and long-range planning processes for co-manufacturing costs and related operational drivers. - Maintain forecast models for conversion costs, productivity, yield, labor, overhead, capacity, and other manufacturing assumptions. - Develop and maintain should-cost models for co-manufacturing toll estimates, supplier negotiations, and cost validation. - Quantify manufacturing productivity and cost-reduction initiatives, track performance against commitments, and validate realized savings. - Support business cases for capacity investments, make-versus-buy decisions, network changes, capital expenditures, and co-manufacturing alternatives. - Provide financial support for new product introductions, reformulations, pack changes, and manufacturing transitions. **Business Partnership & Process Improvement** - Partner with Co-Manufacturing, Operations, Accounting, Procurement, R&D, and Finance to understand cost drivers and improve financial outcomes. - Translate detailed manufacturing results into concise insights and recommendations for finance and non-finance audiences. - Build repeatable models, reporting tools, and documentation that improve the accuracy, speed, and scalability of Manufacturing Finance processes. - Identify control gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve cost visibility; propose and implement practical solutions. - Manage multiple priorities independently, escalate material issues promptly, and follow analyses through to resolution. ### **Skills & Experience:** - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. - 3+ years of progressive finance, accounting, analytics, manufacturing finance, operations finance, or FP&A experience. - Strong understanding of COGS, standard costing, variance analysis, gross margin, inventory, and manufacturing cost drivers. - Experience analyzing productivity, yield, scrap, labor, overhead, conversion costs, or capacity is strongly preferred. - Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods, food, manufacturing, retail, or another inventory-intensive business is preferred. - Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills, including the ability to organize and analyze large data sets and build scalable financial models. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail, data integrity, and reconciliation. - Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly and tailor conclusions for finance and non-finance audiences. - Ability to work autonomously, manage competing deadlines, and make progress when processes or data are still evolving. - Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker is a plus. - Experience with ERP and planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Anaplan, or comparable platforms is a plus. ### **Location and Travel:** The position will be based onsite in Walnut Creek, CA. We strongly believe in the power of culture and community and have a hybrid work structure with 4 days in the office on a weekly basis to encourage collaboration and personal connections that will allow us to better serve our customers and consumer and to have more fun. Fridays are flex days with employees having the opportunity to choose to be either in the office or to work from home based on what makes most sense for them. ### Pay Transparency: The expected starting salary range for this role is $115,000- $125,000 per year. The salary range posted for this role reflects the good-faith base pay range Kinder’s reasonably expects to offer at the time of posting and may vary based on the location of the role. Individual compensation within the posted range will be determined based on factors such as relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, and business needs. ### SEASONED FOR SUCCESS: - No two days here are the same. - We try to be good team members and good communicators, but we don’t live by hierarchy and structure – everyone is a difference maker here. - We make a lot of decisions in the face of incomplete information – our team embraces ambiguity and tries to make good decisions fast rather than great decisions slow. - We believe our job is to take smart risk, not to eliminate risk. - We believe in growing our skills and becoming a better company with more managerial expertise, but we are an entrepreneurial company at heart. - We aren’t trying to be average – we want to do exceptional things, and we are willing to work hard to achieve them. ### BENEFITS THAT BRING MORE TO THE TABLE: We offer a range of total rewards that may include paid time off, 401k, bonus / incentive eligibility, equity grants, competitive health benefits, and other family-friendly benefits, including parental leave. Kinder’s benefits vary based on eligibility and can be reviewed in more detail during the interview process. ### OUR RECIPE FOR BALANCE: We believe great culture starts with people. We’re a people-first company built on connection, collaboration, and balance. Most of our work happens in the office to spark creativity and community, but we also offer flexibility so team members have the autonomy to work outside the office when needed to support their work-life balance and personal commitments. ### WHERE EVERY INGREDIENT MATTERS: Kinder's is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, ancestry, national origin, gender, citizenship, marital status, religion, age, disability, gender identity, results of genetic testing, veteran status, as well as any other legally-protected characteristic.
