With $1B+ in revenue across 13 brands, our portfolio includes Sur La Table, Backcountry, One Kings Lane, and others that serve as real-world innovation labs. **Reports to:** Chief Technology Officer **Location:** Costa Rica (Remote); Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid/Remote) ### About the Role As **Senior Front End Engineer**, you will work across the full front-end stack, partnering with product, design, and back-end engineers to deliver features that reach millions of customers. At the 6–12 month mark, success looks like having shipped meaningful improvements to core user experiences, established yourself as a technical leader through code reviews and mentorship, and actively integrated AI-driven tooling into your development workflow. This is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end-to-end responsibility. ### What You'll Do - Develop well-designed, testable, and scalable web applications using React, TypeScript, and modern frameworks. - Explore and integrate AI tools to streamline development and improve user engagement. - Deliver new features and optimize existing experiences at speed and scale within an agile workflow. - Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers. - Write and maintain unit tests and automated test suites to ensure code quality and reliability. - Partner closely with product, design, and back-end engineering to ship cohesive end-to-end features. - Stay current with the latest trends in front-end engineering, design patterns, and AI-driven development. ### Required Qualifications - 5+ years building complex, high-performing web applications. - Deep expertise in React and JavaScript ES6/TypeScript. - Solid understanding of web performance, accessibility, and security best practices. - Proven track record of writing clean, maintainable, and testable code. - Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. - Excellent collaboration and communication abilities. ### Preferred Qualifications - UX/UI design sensibilities and experience collaborating closely with design teams. - Functional programming experience. - Hands-on exposure to AI development tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar. ### Why Join The people who do best here are builders.
